Sketch: Koit and Hämarik

I've had a successful sketching day in Phantasialand today, got in four rollercoaster rides and a Nutella crêpe as well as a very refined sketch, and drove home three happy and exhausted teenagers. A good day all around.

Koit (the dawn) and Hämarik (dusk) in Estonian-inspired garb. These costumes are so gorgeous! I want to go overboard with traditional Slavic (edit: and Baltic) costumes… so beautiful.

Oh, well. Thanks for your answer. [And I've had a soft spot for werewolves since I was a kid.]

I am afraid I will be able to answer only about Latvian authors. There are a couple of young writers who have written novels related to Latvian mythology (mainly the dark side - witches, werevolves... :-)), but these books are all in Latvian, as far as I know. I am now curious about Naomi Novik! :-D

Zane Libiete

Lovely respectful exchange, Jenny and Zane. Zane, do you know of any fantasy stories set in the Baltic area? I greatly enjoyed Naomi Novik's Uprooted and Spinning Silver which are inspired by, respectively, her Polish maternal and Lithuanian paternal heritage.
