Crawling across the image
Added 2020-02-04 14:56:43 +0000 UTC... and sharpening my pencil literally every minute.
... and questioning my decision to put them all in plate armour. Artistically and historically. But I can't pass over the opportunity to show off the sort of craftsmanship that shortened FΓ«anor's twelve-year exile. XD

My initial idea was to make FΓ«anor burn white-hot (which he should be as he's about to fall to ash), but I haven't ruled out just making the soul bright. I don't like harsh contrasts in watercolour, but there'll be a modicum of them here, of course. :)

2020-02-04 15:23:17 +0000 UTCThought: Have you considered painting in high contrast due to the brilliance of his passing soul? Bright highlights but deep black crisp shadows? Would be striking and appropriate but also save you a lot of pencil details π (ex - foreground sons would be mostly silhouette, Maglor might be in a fair amount of shadow behind Maedhros depending on where you put the fiery source of light.).
