Longing - colour scheme stands

The sky had become rather heavy and overworked; this time, I knew how the paper would handle so I got it done much more quickly. This paper here buckles and warps so much that even my stretcher has trouble pulling it tight again, so I watered it a lot more this time than I usually would.
The gulls had got a few layers of paint as well, the last time round, so I masked them off with masking fluid on this one. I've already removed it; the paper is too rough for masking fluid really, so I didn't dare to leave it on for more than two hours. But I like how crisply they shine now!
The masking tape all round also bites into this paper a lot more than into smoother ones, and ripped the paper on the last attempt (when I had already decided to scrap it, so that was really the last straw). I used a trick for the masking tape here: lightly sticking it to my trousers briefly before taping it on the paper. That way, it'll come off better. Hopefully. ;)

Love the colors of the cliff and the little ripples on the water. This is going to be a gorgeous piece. I hope this paper doesn’t cause too much trouble. ^^'
