So, this is what it looks like when I try to art when my daily quota of eyesight is used up (depending on how stressy the day is, and how much small things I have to look at before noon, that's between 1 am and 3 am).

We'll see how much Inktober there'll be this year.

/hugs you gently Please don't push yourself!

Yes, no unnecessary pressure. I don't think art should be forced. And Graphitober would be as least as good as Inktober. Wish you the very best for your eyesight.

Maksâtan

Graphitober sounds good. Tonedpapertober, too. ;)

Jenny Dolfen

Perhaps we could have Graphitober? As others have said, do what you can, any way you can, and we'll sit back and admire your work. Absolutely no pressure.

I think it's time to stop calling it INKtober in any way. Maybe I'll try something for tomorrow that I can erase when it goes bad.

The story is that of the three "wildmaidens" that I came across in Southern Germany this summer. It's woefully anticlimactic but nice artistically ;) Near a cave in the Allgäu lived three wild maidens. Every once in a while, the villagers nearby would find some sort of broken equipment that had been left there by the wildmaidens to be fixed; the villagers fixed the things and put them back for the maidens to find. The next night, they would find a plate of cakes in the same spot. I envisioned the maidens as friendly witches and really liked the concept, but I haven't been able to work on this one - or on another - since yesterday; my eyes hurt too much. :/

That must be incredibly frustrating. But as ever, don't feel pressure to produce for us - do what you can, and don't add to your stress. Take care of yourself. (Also, I'm joining the group wondering about the story in the drawing...)

Your health comes first! If you feel like drawing because you want to great! But don't feel like you have to push yourself for us! I like what you posted today and I'm curious on back story.

PL

Dear Jenny, health comes first, we all understand that here! Even if you make only a few drawings for Inktober, so what? To feel good and comfortable is more important than the rules. Besides, I like it. ☺ What is the story behind this drawing?

Zane Libiete

I agree, don’t feel like you have to push yourself. I love this piece because I can already think of about 5 books on my shelf it would work with!

Evelyn Maire

Still looks like art to me! 😊 Inktober is whatever you want to do with ink, Jenny. Stay healthy!
