A metaphorical moment more than anything else, if the twins had met again before their fate separated them until the world is broken and remade.
Red and white pencil on Clairefontaine toned paper. You may feel reminded (at least where technique is concerned) of several works that Donato Giancola has been turning out lately - I hugely admire his art and the technique is just lovely.

Beautiful! Just a personal note: I always imagined the Númenorean kings to be beardless (at least for some generations) thanks to their elven heritage – in a similar way the Princes of Dol Amroth were beardless. But I think Tolkien never explicitly stated that.

If prints aren't offered, and the original is yoinked... then at least it'll go and become one of my digital backgrounds!'

These brothers give me such feelings, just thinking about the idea of poor Elrond seeing his brother ageing like he does and being parted from him forever, when their family was already touched by tragedy and parting, and again to come with his wife, daughter and sons... NOW I AM SAD ;_; But seriously, amazing work as usual!!
