Two things on a lighter note:
1. I now don headphones whenever I paint (with music from Focus@Will - that really has conditioned me to go into instant arting mode) and I have a little magnifying glass you can stick on your own glasses. When I paint, I look like a nutty alien professor.
2. My daughter saw this lying on my desk and asked, "Who is this?"
I can now speak with confidence when I say that you can narrate the entire Silmarillion within 98 minutes. I kept giving her the short version, and she kept asking, "But why...?" <3

My son is 10 and we are currently reading LOTR, but he asks about the Silmarillion from time to time...esp. if he hears me and his oldest sister chatting :-)
