Next video is going to be on these guys. The eggs are starting the hatch. So far 6 of the 10 I kept hatched but unfortunately so far only 1,5 baby survived. The 0,5 is one that is currently alive but I don't think he is going te make it. I don't now if it is an unusually high number that didn't make it but I know it is normal not all of them do. These stick insect just produce a very large number of eggs so that at least some of them make it.

Yes I know, I also always make some cuts in the leaves because they have a hard time starting to eat from an edge. But the ones that didn't make it seemed to be smaller than the one that did make it. I've read now that it is not uncommon for only 2-3 out of 10 to survive

When I kept stick insects I know the babies needed tender leaves or very fresh shoots (and some needed special types of leaves) and always make sure there is some moisture (lightly mist the leaves) but make sure none can fall into any puddle of water as they can drown. I hope more survive!

Looking forward to it
