April [& January] 2023 Update [Video]

Finally posting the video update that was meant to be made and posted for February!
As I mention in the video, I will be focusing on commissions for a while, and probably come back to working on the Tekki 3d model by May or June [Though at that point I'll still be working on commissions but hopefully I can work on 1 or 2 at a time alongside the model.]
The video shows the new animations added to the other corner of the mouth. The changes to the tongue. Two issues I've been running into and how to fix them. Some extra poses/expressions.
Thank you again for everything, I'm ready to come back! May will probably just be commission art, but Hopefully June there can be some 3D updates!
I hope you guys are doing well, thank you so much for your patience!

Aaa, I'm really glad you liked the narration!! Last time I recorded the audio first and then made the videos, this time I wrote what I wanted to talk about first, then made the videos, and then recorded the voice and I feel like that really helped make it sound better, and make the video and voice match, and keep some personality as you said! Because I am taking from both the video and script! Hahaha Wow... I thought rolling the tongue was like whistling or snapping your fingers, where it may come easier for some but it's still achievable! I can do it but only the basic taco shape lol. I find it really funny that I didn't really think about tongue roll when working on the tongue! The "curl" control was more for making the tongue flexible, and conform to *other shapes*! haha I think you are right! There must be a way to automate that with a script, I've never ventured into coding though, so I would have no clue how to even begin looking into that, or how to specify copying the roll of one bone into another, I imagine the naming convention I'm using might make it more possible/easy but... yeah that's a good thought! [I wish I understood how the issue happens in the first place though! so I could avoid it x'D] Sadly I did report it as a bug but it seems to be more complicated than I thought, and maybe not even a bug: https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/104055 But they were the ones that told me how to "fix" the issue, and the workaround of stashing actions! <3 glad you liked those! I want to practice more with making expressions, and besides, doing that really helps me see where my rig falls short/needs improvements! And yeah all 3 cats are doing really well and seem fully recovered and back to their usual life and schedule! Thank YOU so much! For showing interest and sharing your thoughts, I'm so glad you are enjoying these updates! I really want to make them if not useful, at least entertaining!
2023-04-10 18:48:10 +0000 UTCOk, first off, super super impressed with the narration! Honestly feels like one of the Kickstarter-style updates I get from big projects. Very clean, very easy to understand, but still personality coming through. Very silly thing, when you were showing off the tongue, and you did the thing where you make the sides curl upwards, I just kept wondering if you could roll the tongue (like IRL, you have to have the right like...body for that, which is why some people can, and some people can't, and it was funny to think about that in the model, probably not important, just funny to me). Watching your section on how to fix bones, it makes me wonder if you could write a script to do that, since Blender has a pretty robust scripting engine. I guess, if the ideal, is to _NOT_ break them, then maybe building a quick fix tool would be counter-productive. But if you find yourself hitting the issue a lot, might be something that could save time in the long run, perhaps? Related to your bone renaming bit, if you can replicate this consistently, might be worth throwing a bug report at them. If, like you hinted at, that something is not being properly updated in the background, they might be able to pinpoint the bug and fix it. The expressions at the end were pretty entertaining, but more importantly, so glad to hear that you and your cats are doing better! Thank you for the video update, and all the time taken to explain what is going on, various things you're working on, and the hints and tips to fix some of the bugs and issues you've encountered.
