Life Update 2 [kitty photos]
Added 2023-02-10 00:53:46 +0000 UTCHello Everyone!
I'm very sorry for the update delay! Things have been really busy and stressful so far this month.
I'll talk a bit more about that but I want to mention that I have now posted the art compilation post for Tier 3, and the proper Update on my 3d mode progress from January will be delayed, I am not sure how long yet, but I would like to showcase with a video how the mouth is coming along [basically: revised weight painting, adjusted mouth animations, added the corner of the mouth animations to the right side and not just left side, and finished the tongue]
I will pause Patron billing for the month of March, because I think I'll be spending most of February and a chunk of March working on commissions, so I probably won't have a 3D update for March, and only commissions for the art compilation. I was thinking of making a poll to decide if I should pause or not but.. I don't know, it doesn't feel right to not provide anything and still have it up. if you guys think making a poll might be a good idea, if you'd like the patreon billing to stay up, let me know.
Kitty update:
So right before he arrived home on the 3rd, I actually got really sick, a stomach bug, and also from stress, I actually got a bit of a scare because I had felt some pressure on my chest and then a lot of pain on my left arm... and that sounds scary but yeah it was just stress and not sleeping very well because I was sick, all that only lasted two days, but the next day was bringing the kitty [Coby] home!
The next day after bringing him home he had no real apetite or energy but was drinking water well, I got very concerned because these changes really affected our other cat, Ozzy, who got very stressed to the point of vomiting, and even to this day he's not been eating very well, he's a finicky eater and requires special food, so I have to be careful, at least now he is no longer so stressed, recognizes Coby, even cuddled, so that is relieving, although I am still worried that he's barely eating.
Coby has been doing well, he's taking all his meds, and his stitches are healing super well! [Because he was pretty blocked and couldn't pee, he required surgery to remove some sediment and mucus that had formed in his bladder].
With the surgery, they found he had an infection in his bladder, we got a... "culture"?.. a bacterial study to determine what it was, and he has Escherichia coli.
Right now this is a big stress, because he requires daily shots! Which need to be administered at the vet, and the vets we trust most are not super close so we're having to take daily trips to the vet, all these vet visits have been very disrupting since at home there's very tight or sometimes unpredictable schedules, so it's taking a toll on everyone, but it's only 3 more days now!
Those are the big stressors right now, getting both cats to eat, and the vet visits. But other than that, things are settling down, the mornings are the most calm and when I'm able to get things done, it's the afternoon and night when a lot of things start to accumulate [vet visit, trying to get both cats to eat and worrying that it's so little, monitoring him more since he gets restless, maybe playing with him so he's not bored/stressed, two separate rounds of pills] and the stress really builds up, but each day gets better.
Commissions:
I am going super slow with commissions, I seriously appreciate all the patience and understanding! Also spreading the word, thank you so so much!
I think for now costs are mostly covered, I'm still waiting to see how they continue eating their food, in case a change is needed. I don't know if additional visits or tests will be necessary, I will probably take 2 more commissions to be safe [not new spots, but instead from the people I've told I'd get back to!]
I hope I'll slowly get more and more time to work on the commissions, I still think I'll finish the first 3 within February, and then the next few in March.
I hope things are soon back to normal and I have 3D updates and sketches to share by April!
Coby Photos!

Coby! These are not very pretty photos and they are all while he's sleeping lol, but there he is, resting well. He's got quite a few shaved patches, on his arms, below the neck, right above his tail, and his whole tummy because of the surgery. He's very good about not trying to lick his belly, the surgery site, so he is under supervision most of the day and only stays with the cone at night. Last pic is when he was finally able to fall asleep with his buddy Ozzy, it made me so sad that he clearly wanted some kitty comfort but Ozzy was so put off by him and his different smell and cone, but now he's accepted him back.
Here's to a speedy recovery and that he never has another blockage ever again, him or his housemates.

It's a super late reply but first of all thank you so much for the well wishes and support!! ;v; That was actually something our vet mentioned too, and we tried to make some of those makeshift shirts/pajamas for him but it didn't work out. Either I didn't do it right or he would roll around too much trying to remove it, but it ended up shifting and slipping enough to where it would restrict movement a lot. Somehow he seemed to tolerate the cone more! <3 Thank you so much again! By now things are definitely starting to feel like they're getting back to normal!
2023-03-15 19:17:30 +0000 UTCI'm so sorry to hear about all the stress lately! ;_; I'm glad it's going in the other direction though, and that Coby is home, and re-adjusting. I don't know if it'd be helpful to you, but sometimes you can use cat pajamas instead of cones, if it makes life easier for the kitties, since they can't get at the stitches if they're covered. Either way, hoping the cats are fully healthy and happy soon, and you've got less stress and are feeling tip top yourself. 🍀
