Patreon Alternatives [Poll]
Added 2022-11-06 21:09:16 +0000 UTCAs I mentioned in the video, I'm not leaving Patreon! Just looking for a backup in case anything happens and wondering if you guys have a preference:
- Gumroad. Now feels like a real contender thanks to Discord integration.
- Pixiv Fanbox. It's safe for any fictional content, but requires censoring nsfw pics.
- SubscribeStar. Also safe for any fictional content, but has no paypal and a bit tricky for me bc it requires minimum amount before withdrawing money,
[If you have other recommendations that you like more, and are NSFW friendly, I would love to hear!]

Oh!! That's good to know SubscribeStar is alright! And you're using it too. As a supporter, how is the website in terms of searching/receiving content? I'm really curious about that. Are there any pain points to keep in mind or is it pretty smooth for getting content? Gumroad has had memberships for very little so it's as you say, it seems rough around the edges. But I think handling organization and stuff through Discord would bypass that. That makes sense, Pixiv's unfortunate censorship requirements really put it at the bottom in terms of appeal, even though it has some really good points.
2022-11-09 21:57:53 +0000 UTCI think Pixiv has got some odd rules about what you would need to censor/not-censor, because Japan, so that may or may not be good. SubscribeStar is alright? I support some folks there. Gumroad is also ok? I don't know how long they've been doing this kind of thing (the Patreon style model), so might be some odds and ends to deal with as they figure it all out. Overall, I'd not want to lose content (due to censoring or other limitations), so that's mostly where my head is at. 🤔
