July Winners! Zrii & GHB

I think it always happens when I do something more "detailed" with drawings, but this especially felt very intense! It was like a "battle" trying to bring each piece to look on par with the other!! and worrying that they would look too different in terms of quality. But I like what I have now at the end.
Zrii was very interesting, getting poses was surprisingly difficult, I wasn't sure how to properly showcase her, but I hope the poses are cute and that the shading did it's job to emphasize what need to be emphasized, haha! It was so strange during the sketch and lineart phases because the way I draw her is pretty much exactly how I'd draw my Asura gal "Vadie".
Grand Highblood felt surprisingly natural, I was worried he would be pretty hard to draw. I think the fact his shading doesn't have to be as careful and subtle as Zrii's makes it just easier to get a good effect! And honestly it just kinda felt like coming back to something comfortable and familiar? Even though it's been so long since I did Homestuck ancestor drawings, and in general I always worry about drawing muscles, especially if it's outside sketches.
I hope you like the outfits for both of them!

UPDATE: I'm adding here the Homestuck sketches that were missing last month! It's the zip called "2021_07July.zip" because I'm dumb and forgot to rename it to something more descriptive... OTL I'll reupload with the correct names later;; I'll also add the drawings to the June file eventually!

Tier 2- The July compilation is a very small one, but there's a few pics showing the progress of each of the drawings!
Tier 3- You guys get the 2017 compilation, as well as the PSD file for the Zrii and GHB drawings. (PSD files are taking a bit to upload so they'll be coming later today along with the poll! This month it's gonna be 3D sketch.)

Though I just saw that big plate and thought it was a perfect opportunity to just take it out, that way it still feels very much like her, just with a little upgrade~ !!! OTL That makes me so so happy to hear!! I don't know why I keep feeling... a bit self conscious about bringing OCs into polls and monthly piece ideas, even though it would be really fun. I think I want to have something that shows their personality prepared beforehand, but I guess just drawing them more is already going to do that! hhg OTL I'm slowly posting them on ToyHouse, I think that will help me, being able to link at them over there!
2021-08-08 03:10:57 +0000 UTCI didn't expect to like the GHB's shirt meme so much, but both the boob window and underboob are amazing (I have a thing for abs). And I love all of Zrii's, but I feel her boob windows works a bit too well for her. I'd almost expect her to be using such tactics to catch someone off-guard (it matches her class, personality and role in Order of Whispers). I kinda want to see your OCs in this meme, since you can tell a bit of the character's personality in their poses and touches you made in both characters' boob window images (the torn shirt and the modified Whisper's Secret armor).

I think those were my favorites to draw for both as well! for GHB it was a fun idea to have it being ripped, and then I liked the shadows emphasizing the shapes a bit better! For Zrii it was fun trying to show a bit of squish, and also I was happy to actually draw her in her outfit.. just with a little modification! haha
