Some instructions on Blender.
Added 2021-06-04 23:19:09 +0000 UTC[I thought it might be best to move this explanation to it's own post!]
----------------------------------------------------
A qucik guide on how to explore the Eridan .Blend File! [And future Blend files too!]
Navigation.
Middle mouse button === Orbit around.
Shift + Middle mouse button === Move around.
Ctrl + Middle mouse button === Zoom in and out.
dot on Numpad === re-center around selection
Recommended Preferences.
Edit > Preferences... > Navigation.
- Toggle on "orbit around selection"
- Toggle off "Auto Perspective"
Easier navigation, imo!
Posing Eridan.
Select the RIG and go into Pose Mode. To bring Eridan back to "T pose", click A [to select everything].
Then use these shortcuts:
- Alt + G [remove grab transforms]
- Alt + R [remove rotation transforms]
- Alt + S [remove scale transforms]

Most of the "bones" [the shapes of the rig you use to move the character] you'll just need to rotate in order to correctly move the character! The exception are the Hands, Eye controls and maybe the torso [big cube bone], these bones you want to grab and move!
For posing the character, especially when you use rotation, I recommend activating "Local" for transform orientation!

Also the shortcuts for moving stuff, as you might have guessed, are:
- G === Grab [move]
- R === Rotate
- S === Scale
[note- I added the eye controls, they are super basic and have a dumb error where they are looking at the side;;; STILL.. they kinda work.. Move the middle bone to move both at the same time, move the ones on the sides to move each eye independently. Also if you can't find them, they are in the "Arm.L (IK)" layer]
Shortcut = "T" (Menu on the left) you can change from move, to rotate, or if you want everything at once, click choose transform. This menu changes and brings different tools depending on which mode you are in.

Shortcut = "N" (Menu on the left) In pose mode this menu opens more possibilities for the rig! Like hiding or showing different bones, or enabling "FK" instead of "IK" [IK hands = You move the hand and the arm follows] [FK hands = You rotate the arm, then forearm, then hands]

If things feel too cluttered, you can temporarily hide Overlays and Gizmos!

Sorry for the very long post but I hope this helps!

EDIT: Going Further!
---Epyon_Avenger here in the comments shared the very helpful "Blender for Dummies Cheat Sheet"
https://www.dummies.com/web-design-development/blender/blender-for-dummies-cheat-sheet/
This has a ton of hotkeys that are used all the time in Blender! It will definitely come in handy whether you just want to open Blender to look at downloads, or if you're planning to do your own stuff!
---Another resource I can recommend is the Official Blender fundamentals playlist on Youtube:
https://youtu.be/MF1qEhBSfq4?list=PLa1F2ddGya_-UvuAqHAksYnB0qL9yWDO6
It's also very beginer friendly, short and easy to understand and apply, especially because of it's video format! It also keeps going into more detail. It will unlock a lot of possibilities!
My little guide is veeery barebones, so if you'd like to get more out of Blender and be more efficient or enjoy using the software more, definitely check the links!

...Oh!! That is a very simple and incredible resource! I didn't know about it and... just scrolling through I've already spotted shortcuts I didn't know about, this is going to be extremely helpful!! Ahh I want to add it to the little guide as a link with more info!!
2021-06-06 08:37:31 +0000 UTCThanks for the walkthrough! I've got a physical version of the "Dummies" cheat-sheet (they've also put it here: https://www.dummies.com/web-design-development/blender/blender-for-dummies-cheat-sheet/) that I've used previously, but having yours along with it is even better. >:]
