Quick update on the October mini-animation
Added 2020-10-26 04:52:43 +0000 UTCHey guys! Just quickly letting you know that the new mini animation is still going to take a couple of days. I originally planned to have it done and posted today, but I haven't even rendered out all the layers yet. Zoe's new, dynamic fur is quite a bit more elaborate than the previous one, and the hit in render time was a little more pronounced than I first assumed.
I'm confident I'll still get it out before the month's end, as the post production shouldn't take more than a few days! Usually these mini animations are done within a single month, but I went a little overboard with this one and ended up with something that is 34 seconds in runtime (as opposed to roughly 10, which is the usual length of these). At this point I'm kind of considering putting sound under it as well, but at first I'll have to see how quickly I can finalize the visuals.

Alright, the visuals are pretty much done. The additional sound design is sadly going to take another day, and since I've lost count of the last time I've slept I won't be getting this out before the 1st of November, ah well. D:

2020-10-27 00:14:35 +0000 UTCThanks for the input, guys! Will see what I can do about sound! I'll have to get in touch with Gen and Barry again so check if I can reuse some of the material they gave me for Encounter, which is plenty! In addition to the slow rendering times, I'm seemingly dealing with hard drive failure, as a small portion of the rendered frames can't be read or even transferred (bad sectors?). I luckily was able to already move a large portion of the sequences to an SSD, but will have to fill some gaps here and there by re-rendering the ones that are truncated. This might in part be the culprit to long render times I've been experiencing, as certain frames would take an unreasonable amount of time to finish. I didn't assume it was a faulty drive, since this particular HDD is only 1 year old, but oh well!
