Two captains - line art

This one resulted in a fun conversation with my daughter (7): Jana: Oh, he's making an arrow? And that one's sharpening his sword, so this one must be an archer, and the other's a swordsman, right? Me: Yes, that's right. Jana: But how'll he get those feathers for the arrow? Me: He'll probably have to shoot a goose. Jana, sad: Oh. And they've already killed that little dragon, to put it on the helmet.

Love the feel of this piece. The unspoken camaraderie between them and peacefulness to this moment are beautiful.

In my free time, I fight with the Society for Creative Anachronism. I wear maille, and I'm constantly blousing it so that its weight is shared between my hips and shoulders. I love that Beleg's maille is half-bloused, as if he'd bloused it, but it had started to fall through his belt again (as it does).

She already saw the arrows left in his quiver. ;)

*whispers* tell Jana that Beleg won' t be able to shoot a goose - on his arrow, there are no feathers. He can't use it.... ;-)

I forgot to say - Belthronding looks awesome! :-)

Corine Hefting

Aww, your daughter sounds cute!

I just want to know now what Túrin is saying to Beleg? Caption competition? ;-)

Floss

Right now, she's reading Robin Hood, so she's got a soft spot for outlaws! :)

If your daughter likes Dragons, then Anne Macaffrey and Pern are the place to go ;-)

Floss

Yes, but now I will never be able to look at these two again without seeing them as hooligans roaming the coutryside in order to snuff innocent mini-dragons to put on helmets. :D

Jenny Dolfen

I love kids' logic, which is often pretty sound. :D BTW, I think the helm looks pretty darn cool.
