A Short History of the 909

Hello everyone, we finally finished our new video!! This is our love letter to the 909, a drum machine whose unique sound influenced entire music genres such as House and Techno. Like our 808 video this is basically 16 short "Drum Patterns Explained" episodes rolled into one - this time with an authentic replica of the machine on which we could show its little quirks and peculiarities.

This episode really put up a fight. Murphy's law went full force on us - from shipping delays to scheduling problems and a script that grew way bigger than expected. We had to weigh the choice between creating the video we had envisioned or making some cuts and simplifications. But you know us, in the end we wanted to make a video we're 100% happy with. So thank you everyone for your patience and encouraging messages, it's thanks to your continued support that we powered through every setback we faced. Of course we already have some new scripts in the works and we definitely don't plan on keeping you waiting for this long again :)

Part of the preparation for this video was double checking all included 909 patterns, so as a bonus you also get a few reworked and updated transcriptions.
