James Brown - Funky Drummer (Drum Pattern No. 71)

Clyde Stubblefield's breakbeat from "Funky Drummer" is one of the classics, right up there with the Amen Break. Thanks to ThomMorrow for suggesting it! :)

Of course it's been sampled countless times, but in my memory it will always be ingrained as the beat during Saturn Bomberman's Battle Menu :D

Hi Daniel! At the top of the Big Drum Pattern Catalogue you can find a link to this tutorial on how to read the transcriptions including the accents https://www.patreon.com/posts/how-to-read-drum-55107426 For further reading also check out the latest version of the Drum Machine 101 book https://www.patreon.com/collection/503824 If you only have black accented and gray unaccented steps then a 127/64 MIDI velocity split (or 100%/50%) works well most of the time, if you have an additional third weak level then for instance try 127/96/48 :)

Dear Cap... about accents... I'm lost about it... The black color is 100% accent and the grey in weaker ? Like 50% ? How about the smaller square ( pad ) ? When the pad size reduces, what it means ? Tks !
