Transparency report #2

Hey guys!  This week I finished the scene edit (which took longer and was more complicated than planned 😩) and pushed it out to testers for feedback.

I don’t think the writing will ever get easier.  This scene was challenging to get right because I was trying to put too much detail into it; when I considered it in the context of the overall game experience, I realised I needed to cut some detail in return for some speed.  But I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

More new NPCs
Because the Lifepath is going to be released in one episode instead of four, we need some of the larger cast of NPCs planned for Bangkok sooner rather than later.  I created writeups for three new male club NPCs, and XG wrote up four new bargirls.  We’re planning to do a lot more with the club and having more NPCs will enable us to do some more interesting things in the club, in the VIP and behind the scenes.

Next steps
I’m now moving onto restoring content I cut from the Lifepath which the testers say needs to go back in 😬 But it’s 8PM and I’m frazzled, so I’ll get some rest tonight and get back on it in the morning.

Sorry for giving you two short reports in a row, but I am sticking to producing weekly reports not good reports.  πŸ¦€β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯

KEEP IT UP CRUSH! YOU CAN DO IT

A little sleep deprived so this ended up being a bit more rambling and disjointed than I anticipated but I think it gets what i"m trying to say cross :) I love the new shorter reports. I'm a bit of a perfectionist myself when it comes to things I do, but looking at it from the outside: Longer, more detailed, or just bigger reports aren't 'better' even though they might feel like it. For me, I was slightly confused by the lack of news and even a little worried about whether someone had gotten sick or otherwise in trouble or something. I much prefer to get news regularly, even if that means you're reporting on smaller steps, so to speak. More frequent reports actually make it easier for me, personally, to patiently wait for the next update :) Take what time you need, you shouldn't be feeling pressured to meet either some arbitrary deadline or standard of quality. As a genuine fan, I think I can speak for most fans, that we appreciate being kept in the loop, but we want you to keep doing what you're doing in a healthy way <3

Short report is better than no report and even better if there's progress to report. Even if that progress wasn't as great as you hoped.
