Weekly update #5: Crafting system #2

Last week the work was mostly back-end with a lot of rework done with the slots and inventory system, which will allow us to make recipes and craftable objects now. While remaking the slots system I also got the opportunity to implement stackable items and fix some issues with the items collisions.


-Stackable items have the number next to the slot and if the item you are trying to drop has a stack bigger than 1 then this menu will replace the equip and drop buttons so you can choose how many items to drop.



-The items in the picture have no collision against eachother because of an issue where dropping multiple items would cause them to hit one another and jump a few meters away from the players. This could've caused some items to be lost.


-Some of the items have been added to the data table but they still need icons and animations before the become full interactable items.

I also asked on my Instagram story what craftable Items would you guys want to see and I received hundreds of answers, so today I sorted those out and Infinitum will have over 20 craftable items on release and more will be coming after the release. I am planning to add a lot of content while staying out of the "adding infinite content loop". Full list with those craftable objects coming next week.

During this week I also started working on a new devlog, which I aim to have more than 10 minutes but still have a higher quality than my previous devlogs, It's planned to be released this sunday.

In conclusion, this week I plan on finishing a devlog and then keep working on the crafting system, hoping I will have a fully working crafting bench by the end of the week, so we can start working on the building system.
