Demo release has been delayed

Unfortunately, as much as I worked to prevent this from happening, I still couldn't do it. January 2023, I started working on Infinitum which at first was a simple Idea.  I wanted to make(and still do) the best backrooms game out there where each person can have a good, unique and personalised experience with this game. Over time, ideas  grew and so did the community and support and I would like to thank everyone for supporting this project with as little as 1 like. Over the past 7 months I learned so  many things from level designing, programming and many things Unreal Engine can offer to marketing on various social media platforms and video editing. As you guys know, this is my first project and I am really commited to finishing it delivering a quality product and if I were to deliver a demo around August, it wouldn't rise to the  promises I made because there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.  First I would like to answer the question of "Why did you have to delay the demo? And for how long? The main reasons why the demo has to be delayed is because I had to  remake a lot of things I previously built because I keep learning a lot of new things, which is something I never thought about when I said I will have a demo by August,  and also because of how much the ideas and features I want implemented have evolved, which means a lot more work. For example, recently I wanted to add a batteries mechanic  to the flashlight. To do that I had to completely remake the inventory system and how the character equips, is using, drops and saves items because the way I previously  built it was not flexible enough to add this new mechanic. If I remade the invetory system I decided to also remake the character from scratch adding new mechanics to  it(parkour) which took one whole week of hard work and I still did not add the batteries mechanic to the flashlight(but it can be now implemented and it will take a  little more work so it should come soon). This happens every other week and some of the things that will need remake are the settings menu, the saving system  (there are some problems related to saving with the version of unreal engine I am currently using which makes things even harder), the character customization  system and many more. Instead of giving away another date or promise to you guys I might not be able to keep, I would rather just keep working hard and promise a real  date when I am 100% certain that It will be released then. I could definitely get some basic stuff done and come with a free demo the next month but it would not be  quality and as you guys said, the last thing someone wants is to be dissapointed by something they were looking forward to. The only thing I will promise with certainty  is that Infinitum will be a good final product that many people will enjoy playing for hours. It doesn't matter how many things I have to remake, it doesn't matter how  many people hate on me or towards the game, it doesn't matter how many things I have to learn or how many times I have to start over. I will still finish this game and  it will be quality because I put many hours daily and a lot of work and passion, when someone is doing everything they can towards something, they will succeed. With  that being said, I won't give a date for the demo because I don't want to further disappoint anyone if unpredictable things happen.  Secondly, there are currently two big problems. The first one is one of my weaknesses and that is 3d modeling. I could hire someone to make models but a quality model  is somewhere around over 800 pounds and that is for a simple realistic character, not a modular one which is what I need. That's why I would like to learn 3d modeling  myself because this would make the quality of the game 10 times better and here's why: I could make the entities myself which gives me full freedom over the horrifying  entities I plan to have in the game, I will have the power to have the character slightly modeled different depending on situations(I can make entities with different  suits for example, as if they were once humans), and also make cutscenes where parts of your body are being cut or your suit destroyed for example, and these are some  powerful things that would take the quality of the game to another level. The second big problem has to do with multiplayer. Recently I found a problem with the generation  system where if a player goes far away from another player, the world would generate differently for each one of them. This means that I will have to remake the whole  generation system in a new way and make sure it work which might take 1-2 weeks on it's own. A sad thing is that I had to downgrade and remake the project from scratch  at some point to make this system work and it's heartbreaking to see that it still doesn't work properly but I will probably upgrade the unreal engine version and remake  it from scratch at some point(before the demo release).  Some of the upcoming plans for this year is a kickstarter (will need more funding to be able to release on consoles, vr and more while keeping the price of the game to  5 eur on those platforms) and and 1 month patreon steam beta where YOU will be able to playtest the game with your friends! The patreon beta will happen exactly one month  before the demo release.  This was all I wanted to say in this post, I apologise if I dissapointed anyone in any way, I am sorry if I was not able to meet your expectations guys, development will  continue as usual and soon I will start being more organised and share my weekly schedule on stories at the beggining of each week! I would like to end this by saying  thank you to everyone who supports this solo project I am working on and for all the kind messages you guys send me everyday, I appreciate all of you!

I'm so happy to see that no matter what, you're not giving up on this, and you're giving yourself time to make the game you dreamt of. True fans will appreciate you taking the time, and putting in the effort to make it perfect, even if that does mean a dely.
