There was a lot of work done this week. Here are some of the new things!
General:
- changed the items system, now I can make custom animations for each item and also custom animations playing when using them
- fixed bug where player's equipped item would not play it's correct animation
- fixed bug when travelling between levels there would be a small moment after the fade to the blackscreen where you could still see the world before traveling
- added a 0.5 delay to the flashlight on/off functions so you can't spam it anymore
- changed flashlight on and off sounds to be more realistic
- added hunger/thirst mechanic
- added toggle HUD button when opening inventory (you can turn the new UI on and off)
- added the use/eat/drink feature (equip the item and left click to use/eat/drink)
- completely reworked the stamina system
- changed flashlight material to be more realistic
- small changes to the camera shake
- added camera fov change when running
- when you run out of food/thirst you won t be able to run anymore so I wouldn't risk it in case i will meet with an entity
- supposedly fixed bug where player camera could noclip through walls
- due to some optimizations the project is now only 1.5gb!
- increased the hearing range of the Scratcher by from 550 to 650
- fixed bug where player would always drop almond water instead of the actual item he had in inventory
- added random probabilities to spawn desks around levels with items on them
- Scratchers now spawn randomly in Level 2
Level 37 "POOLROOMS"
- fixed day-night cycle
- changed the post processing effects
- small changes to water
- fixed bug where you could not use the slide in poolrooms to exit the level
Main Menu
- added reverb to the song and it now plays in 3d
- added the "infinitum" name on the walls
- added day-night cycle to the main menu
UI
- you can see on the screen the brand new UI
- updated the Inventory UI
Items
- added sound effect for dropping/picking items
- added animation for player using items
- added BreadSticks
- added Chips
- all added items have sound effects made by myself
- eating chips will make you more thirsty
NOTE: Make sure you use your stamina well against entities, it's not that easy to get rid of them
Currently known bugs:
- flashlight has a very buggy aim offset
- client's dropped items can't be seen by the server
- inventory items doesn's save between level travels (hopefully fixed by next week)
- there are some bugs with the inventory slots, but this will be hopefully changed next week
