Hypno content is optional in 1.3.6

The hypno content we added was quite divisive, so that content will be optional from 1.3.6 onwards.  (To play without hypnosis, just ask Dr Campbell  if the hypno is optional when he first mentions it.)

For the hypno haters, this is good news.  For the hypno lovers, this is also good news!  Removing it from those who disliked it means we can produce moar hypno content for you in future.

One thing I have noticed with the hypnotherapy is it seems to be a little random with the outcomes if you pinpointed a specific think you thought the Agent would struggle with. for instance identifying working on stage as a issue should have led to directed therapy to help over come that i.e the exhibitionist trait however on 4 of the last 5 test walk through's it has given 'likes rough sex' Having the agents fears direct the traits acquired would give more variation and could also be used to let the player effectively control how much hypnotherapy was given with the multiple sessions during the training missions. Combined with the ability to select multiple traits already you could effectively create a lot of replay-ability

Seriously, choice is good of course, but I think one of the best features of the game is your vision, I hope you don't have to compromise it too much too often because I think you have a lot of great ideas. But I understand that this is a very polarizing theme so okay. I think it makes sense that her mind is softened to some degree. The (supposed) point of hypnosis in the story is not to hijack her mind, but rather to make what's coming to her easier to bear. I especially like how hypnosis gives her an extra Trait. I actually see not just two but three possible degrees of hypnosis, and I'm hoping, actually I'm afraid that splitting the content like this will make it so that one has to choose between two extremes. I hope you're open to the possibility of a mild, middle path. I think a great component of the story is the psychological makeup of the agent. She was chosen not only for her physical assets but because the doctor saw something special in her personality. Maybe it was just an openness and resilience to new situations. Or maybe he found she was vulnerable to be hypnotized and manipulated more easily. Perhaps you can have her be able to resist some of the worst parts of the therapy? I think that would open more and better options, different levels of control and corruption, and not just a choice between zero hypnosis and complete bimbo mind control sluttification. Anyways sorry for rant.

For myself, i hope she develops in that direction of her own free will. As opposed to it being done with artificial control that, in my opinion, completely ruins the atmosphere and cheapens said "development" to the point of it not actually being natural development at all but rather a state of forced change.

I think it's great, especially since it increases the replayability significantly to try both ways.

This is a really good point. Originally I didn't want to make any content optional, because I feel that the agent having to do things she doesn't want to is kind of the whole point of the game. I was persuaded on the hypno, but thank you for reminding me of this important point.

Crushstation

Good decision, like a bit more control over the character.

Net005

Ok, just remember to not do this every time someone doesn't like something or the whole game will become optional

Enrico

Really like the Hypno content, i hope to see more.

Terra

I approve; I prefer for her to develop her sluttiness on her own, but even though I'll be taking advantage of this to avoid the hypno content, I also am generally in favor of giving the player more choices.

Doc Odd

The hypno content's been pretty great so far. I'm hoping the future content will help her develop her sluttiness even further ^^

Yay for (eventually) moar hypno content! :)
