Chapter 270 : Tiny World Boss Minny

« Chapter-269 | Index | Chapter-271 »

Sora was still troubled by the exchange with Newtons.

‘If I start doubting my Alter Egos, I won’t be able to take a single step without fearing for my life. What he said makes sense, but I can’t bring myself to believe it. If I’m going to trust a group of people in this world, it’ll be my Alter Egos...’ He kept his thoughts to himself and didn’t reply to Newtons, who had put him in a bad mood.

‘Maybe Tian Long has some answers for me, and maybe we’ll be able to help each other in the future... but that’s not on the agenda for today. Today, I’m here to beat up World Bosses.’ He didn’t entirely dismiss his brother’s advice but chose to focus on his current objective.

He walked over to the Mother of Dragons and saw Harun and Ash talking with her.

“Can’t you give us a discount on the skill fusion? It’s way too expensive right now!” Ash seemed to be negotiating for the use of the throne.

Tian Long shook her head and pointed to the sky. “Using an item this valuable in this world is already a blessing, so they slapped a bunch of restrictions on it... I’d love to give you a discount, but I don’t decide the price.”

“Tsk...” Ash made a disapproving sound, but Tian Long didn’t seem to mind his lack of manners.

Harun looked pensive, and when he saw Sora arrive, he said, “Sora, we’ve got a problem.”

Sora stopped next to him and motioned for him to continue.

“We’ve run out of basic ultimate skills to fuse into 1★ skills,” Harun explained.

Sora was surprised. “Between the thousand of us, didn’t we gather like five hundred ultimate skills?”

Harun explained, “Yes, we did. We used that stockpile to fuse 1★ and 2★ skills, but each of us here has already burned through hundreds of basic ultimate skills. When you absorbed and recreated us, you gave them back, but the system detects that I already used those skills for fusions. They’re locked. I’ve only got about fifty ultimate skills left I can use for fusion.”

He pointed at the others. “Onyx told me he doesn’t even have enough left to make a single ultimate skill. Same goes for Sylvan and Ash. They used everything before the qualifiers.”

Sora put a hand on his forehead. “Didn’t you guys say the number of ultimate skills we had was more than enough?”

Tian Long sighed when she saw the duo complaining. “Are you serious? I’ve never seen anyone so young and inexperienced with that many ultimate skills, and you’re complaining you don’t have enough?”

She went on, “On top of that, you all share your skills! One of you gets a skill, and everyone benefits from it! With just ten ultimate skills, each of your thousand damn clones could create a 1★ skill!”

Sora frowned. “They’re not clones. They're my friends and brothers. Please pick a better word.”

He turned to Harun. “With your current power, creating and mastering ultimate-level skills should be child’s play. Share your knowledge to speed up the process. You know what you have to do. Before the battles, you all need to be ready.”

Harun nodded.

Sora turned toward Karl and Shade, who were waiting on the side. He addressed the Mother of Dragons.

“Tian Long, we’re heading out. You coming with us?”

Surprised, she asked him, confused, “You don’t want them to use my throne?”

“I do, but for now they need to train. If they need us, they can join us at any time,” Sora explained.

“Sometimes I forget how tiny this world is... My bad. I’m ready.”

Sora smiled. Indeed, with speed, power, and mental strength, the world felt smaller to him with each passing day.

The group of four took flight and headed toward the African continent.

Moments later, they found themselves above the desert.

Sora was surprised by the view before him.

“It hasn’t changed... There are no monsters, no humans. Just sand. It’s like we’re back in the real world,” he said, amazed.

Tian Long commented, “The least populated areas are sometimes spared from environmental changes. But it’s pretty random.”

Karl, who didn’t seem in the mood to admire the scenery, pointed in a direction. “That’s our target?”

Sora followed the direction with his eyes. “It should be.”

His gaze landed on an anomaly in the desert. Surrounded by sand, a dark area stood out from the landscape.

It was an abyss. A gaping chasm, visible even from afar.

Sora began floating toward the abyss to get a better look but couldn’t make out anything. No mana, no light came out of the hole.

He then used his mental force to probe its depth. However, after a few hundred meters, he felt his energy blocked by a barrier.

“This is the place. Let’s go.”

He dove in feet first into the chasm, followed by the rest of the group.

“Do you know what we’re about to face?” Tian Long asked during the descent.

Sora nodded. “I’m using Daemon’s report to locate or guess the World Bosses’ presence. This one was discovered quickly. Someone came here in the past, and said it was a Jinn. We don’t know its name or level.”

Tian Long’s face lit up. “Oh! If it let someone leave its territory, it must be a Stellar Jinn! They’re super cool, but I doubt you’re strong enough to beat one just yet.”

Sora appreciated the info and stopped at the edge of the barrier marking the World Boss’s territory.

“Stellar Jinn? What’s that?” he asked, curious.

“They’re a pretty exceptional race. It’s hard to believe, but they say there aren’t even a hundred of them in the whole universe. There have been a rumor that they caught one, but I didn't know if it was true! There never has been a Stellar Jinn on the previous servers after all. I’ve dreamed of meeting one for ages! ” Tian Long replied, clearly excited.

Sora raised an eyebrow. “What’s with the sudden enthusiasm? I didn’t know you could be so expressive.”

Tian Long stiffened at the comment and was about to retort when a new voice rang out.

“If this Heavenly Dragon is so excited, it’s because she’s heard stories about us. But I’d rather stop you right there, greedy dragon. I won’t be granting you any wishes.”

Sora turned toward the voice coming from the abyss and tried to find its source, only to fail.

“No use looking for me, human. You won’t see me from outside. You can come in, though, I won’t harm you.” The speaker seemed to see Sora, while he himself couldn’t perceive anything.

Sora glanced at Tian Long, who nodded. She didn’t seem offended by the insult from the mysterious being deep within the abyss.

“We can go in. Stellar Jinns have a great reputation. As long as you don’t hurt them, they won’t hurt you. And this one seems pretty young... Let’s go meet them!”

Sora and his companions had countless questions racing through their minds, but they remained silent.

They crossed the barrier, and the world before them completely changed in appearance.

The desert gave way to a vast void. At the center of that emptiness floated a tiny yellow planet.

‘This isn’t a pocket dimension... Something expanded the space inside the barrier. The hole was about a hundred meters wide, but the barrier holds a void stretching several hundred kilometers.’ He noticed this right away.

Besides the small planet, just a few kilometers in diameter, there were several tiny celestial bodies in the darkness — moons, other planets, a mini-sun, and other celestial objects.

While Sora silently admired the environment, Tian Long flew straight toward the central planet.

After spotting someone, she exclaimed, “Hello, young Stellar Jinn! I love your home! Everything here is so pretty.”

“You didn’t even look around, and you claim to love my home? Unlike you, vile manipulative ice witch, that young human over there seems to genuinely admire what he sees.”
The voice pulled Sora out of his thoughts, and he looked toward Tian Long.

She stood just a few meters away from a small creature...

Curious, Sora flew closer and stopped a few meters behind Tian Long.

[Minny – Level 260]

[Lost Child]

Confused by the creature’s title, he observed it from head to toe.

Minny was a humanoid being, standing on two feet, with light blue skin. He stood no taller than one meter, barely reaching Tian Long’s waist. Yellow and red stars, along with other celestial bodies, drifted freely across his skin.

He wore simple clothing covering his torso and legs. His arms and feet, which looked human, were visible.

He had pale eyes, long white hair, and a crown made of a belt of tiny asteroids floated above his head.

Despite the mix of strange features, Sora found the creature beautiful.

Sora thought, ‘Aside from the tail, skin color, and floating crown, you could almost mistake him for a human boy.’

Shaking his head and refocusing on his objective, he addressed Minny, as politely as he could.

“Friend from another world, I need your help…”

The young Jinn’s once radiant face suddenly tensed, and he looked at Sora with a far less welcoming expression.

“So you’re after my powers too? I didn’t expect much, but you’ve already disappointed me…”

Edit : There'll be a slight change to this chapter and the previous one. Sora will keep one of the alter egos in the outside world. Daemon will stay outside to keep on watching over the world politics, and make good use of the token he has.
