Remote Mining

The mining habitat is pressurised, equipped with a wide range of facilities for worker comfort where almost every operation can be done remotely. The running costs are high due to the advanced technologies necessary, but the safety records are phenomenal.
Some specialists are needed to set up the local infrastructure or make on-site emergency repairs, but the majority of the crew never needs leave the habitat
Because of the isolation, mining crews are on six month shifts, and ample free time and communication in forms of recorded video messages with relatives is given

2022-11-14 04:12:10 +0000 UTCI bet they smuggle in cassette games and Floppies for downtime;)! Considering the 70's tech for the most part of their empire, those CRT's must be pretty advanced! Not to mention the robotics. Do they have something on par with a Boston Dynamics Big Dog by any chance? :D
