Update March 2025

Heya all! I’m really sorry I once again went radio-silent for so long. It wasn’t my intention, but life has been… busier than I was expecting, honestly.

I’ve attached a video I sent to my family in Australia, mostly as padding, but also to show y’all what I’ve been up to.

And I have come to an important conclusion: spring sucks.

Let me tell you a tale of why I’ve been so busy…

It started when the snow started to melt towards the end of February, just after my parents departed for their trip. Me, being alone at this point and raised in a totally different biome, was unaware of just how fast the ground would thaw. And turn into mud. So, I basically spent about three or four weeks busting my ass to get work done in the forest while I could. I did not finish what I wanted, but I did get the important stuff done, which is good. I guess. Still, my chainsaw yearns for destruction.

Aside from that, I was given a number of tasks by my parents to complete while they were gone. Which I can’t really say no to, given that I don’t pay rent. So far, I have built two bookshelves, I have replaced a significant section of floor on the second story of the house, I have collected and split a LOT of firewood, I have cleared up a significant section of the barn in which to put animal pens, and I’m halfway through restoring a table for my mom. And that’s all just in the last three or so weeks. I still have to build ANOTHER set of shelves for my mom, a garbage box thing for the house, and a few smaller projects of my own I’ve been too busy to get to.

I’m not saying this to make excuses; sometimes life just gets in the way of me writing regularly. It hasn’t been far from my mind or anything. I’m constantly tossing around jokes and ideas in the private channels of my discord, and I have the next SI chapter written in my head, but… fatigue is a bitch.

On the plus side, though, my freshly repaired hands are holding up surprisingly well to the use and abuse I’m putting them through.

Good lord, the amount of times I’ve hit my fingers or thumb with my hammer…

Oh, and to top it all off, there’s a dead mouse or something in my walls somewhere. It stinks, and I suffer.

Otherwise, I literally haven’t been doing anything else. I’ve painted minis and stuff, when my hands haven’t been too sore, but this farm has literally been my life for the last two months.

Reading over this, I feel like my tone is a little more depressed than I intended. I’m busy, I’m tired, but it’s a good feeling. I’m just kinda existing at my own pace and doing stuff I enjoy doing. If I could find the time/energy to write, I’d be laughing.

We’ll get there.

I’m planning a more concerted effort to spend at least an hour a day writing, starting… well, tomorrow, actually. I’m not just saying that, either; I love writing, and I miss doing it regularly.

Life is still in kind of a weird place for me right now, but I appreciate all of you for being so patient. I swear, I haven’t forgotten my stories or my art.
