Preview/Update 107

Hola all! Hope we’re all doing well. Have a look at the start of the next SI chapter!

So, SI!Dark is done and has been with Rice for a few days now. Of course, he’s been binging Netflix, so we’ll see if he can get it done on time... The canon self insert has kinda taken on a mind of its own lately. This chapter is not going the way I planned, but I’m content to ride it out and see what happens. I’m also committed to getting another Matter of Pride chapter done and uploaded for y’all before Christmas. Progress on all fronts! Yay!

I actually meant to get some writing done tonight, but I got distracted painting elves and listening to a Dracula audiobook. You know I’ve never read Dracula? I had to read Frankenstein for one of my Lit classes back at uni, and I’ve been meaning to read Dracula for years, but it just never happened. I actually ended up a lot more invested than I was expecting, and before I knew it it was time to crawl into bed. Whoops. Now I’m all creeped out lol. I’ve also started reading Tolkien’s Book of Lost Tales while I’m on breaks at work, and speaking of uni, good lord this book gives me flashbacks. It’s full of essays explaining the pieces in it, and when I say ‘essays’ I don’t mean a few paragraphs talking generally about the poems and stories, I mean Christopher Tolkien wrote fucking University level essays about this shit, complete with Harvard style references! I’m digging it so far, though. Not really a lot else happening. My brother and I pigged out on bratwurst and sauerkraut at like 2am last night. This was preceded by my barging into his room and shouting in a thick German accent “IT’S WEINER TIME, YA!” The look on his face was priceless. Yes, we’re both nocturnal.
