So this head was started in nomad sculpt, used the new re mesh feature to clean up the head before printing. Heavily recommend buying the re mesh feature for quads if you plan to print. It makes your life so much easier since it makes the mesh less dense and easier for the printer to figure out how to print.
This head also had a new liner inside and fully dye sub eyes. I don’t usually do straps but since this head has a zipper in the back I wanted to do this. In the past I had used elastic or nylon. Elastics stretch and don’t give enough support no matter how wide they are. Nylon tends to slip and slide and never as comfy over time.
I taped the inside of the head to create the pattern. Used this material which I loved. It’s light, dries fast and very easy to sew. Used thick Velcro I bought at Joann’s.
I loved padding the head this way. Predictable and very easy to make clean. Straps I glued on the outside as I was also glueing the fur there so it was very reinforced.
This whole head is machine washable which was something I wanted to do with a smaller build. The weight is distributed really well too so it sits nicely in your head. Easy vision and breathing even with a smaller mouth opening.
I am so happy the TPU ears have worked out well. Very light and have a bit of squish. Highly recommend in ears.
Any questions just ask :)
