Bunny mold

A big bunny mold I had to split into 3 parts. Originally wanted to print in 2 parts but one of my giant printers needs a new nozzle. So one of the halves was split into two. First time doing it that way and it was pretty simple to join using Gloop 3D.

So there is a bit of prep work before a mold can be used. These are my steps:

Design the head in nomad sculpt
Clean up on the pc in Zbrush/mesh mixer
Send to cura and start the print
Once the print is done remove supports and do light sanding to smooth the surface
Coat the inside with 3D printer resin. This stuff cures with UV light. I brush it on lightly and cure every layer. I tend to do 3 layers. Helps make the inside stronger and sleeker. This way foam will want to stick less.
Once the resin layers have cured I give it an initial wipe down with isopropyl to get rid of any gummy areas.
I take it inside and scrub it with dish soap. When I say scrub I mean really scrub. This way you are getting rid of any uncured resin.
I dry it off and dust the inside with cornstarch. I wipe that off after and the mold is now ready to use.
To use it you would need to coat the inside with mold release and pour your expanding foam mix. Both sides of the mold are put together with zip ties, though clamps will do the trick as well.
