I am currently learning how to use 2 new machines at the shop, a giant multi needle embroidery machine and as of last night a laser cutter. Been wanting to make parts of my suits cleaner and faster and the embroidery machine will help me to do so. Working on learning how to digitize my patterns like I did above with the paw pads. Currently using a program called Embird which has been really easy to learn and use. If you work with vectors or know how to convert your work into vector art it is so much easier. Rosco and I took a crash course for the machine this past weekend, and let me tell you it was needed. I had learned a lot of bad habits from my mom in the past when it came to embroidery so I literally went knowing pretty much zero. I was able to test and put most of what I learned to work on Monday and Tuesday I was able to see the results I wanted. The paw pads were a test to see if the idea I have in mind works and it very much does. Will continue posting my findings on the embroidery machine and projects I will be doing with it. Since I am learning the ins and outs of digitizing I can't wait to start my plush projects.
I decided to add a laser cutter to the list of machines at the shop. Started small with a kit that will do a lot of the basics I need it to do. I will eventually upgrade to a CO2 laser at a later date but wanted something I could learn to use well enough without breaking the bank.
I went with a Sculpfun S6 Pro (it comes as a kit so you need to put it together)
I was able to pick it up under $300 on amazon but at the time they were running a sale. If you price around you can find them for about $300. Banggood has them for about that price. I had been eyeing the glowforge's but at the time the price point was a bit restricting based on what I really wanted to do. I wanted to prove to myself I will use this enough to justify spending more at a later date. For now I have done very few tests as I have only had it on for about 3 hours total. Using the program LightBurn which is fantastic and I highly recommend if you are new to the laser cutting world. I have ordered a variety of materials and will be testing and showing what can be done with one of these lasers. I want to see if I can cut materials that can be a pain to do with the cricut with the laser cutter instead without starting a fire.

If you have any questions about the embroidery machine or the laser cutter be sure to ask.
