Laser cutters and why I am looking at this one
Added 2021-08-15 20:39:59 +0000 UTCBeen tinkering with the idea of adding a laser cutter to my shop sometime this year, but which one. I had my eyes set on a glowforge but at the time it is a bit cost prohibiting. Laser cutting won't be a "huge/important" part of what I do so wanted to maybe go with something under the 1k range. Been looking at different chinese lasers and these seem to keep popping up. Linked the video above to show why this one keeps swaying me. With a price range of under $500 and same wattage as a glowforge I am very very curious. Granted I don't expect it to be easy like glowforge but if it does the basic of what I would need to do (mostly cut plastic and engrave most materials) I think this one will make a lot of sense. Currently trying not to add more machines I need to learn a completely different system until I learn how to use my embroidery machine this month.
So what are your takes on laser cutters? Would you consider adding one for your shop?
