FALLING TO THE HYPE
The goal was to completely avoid any form of character creation for the entire year and just focus solely on animation but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. No matter how much I try to focus solely on animation, I always find myself diving into some form of model creation.
Recently, I was determined to avoid getting caught up in the Marvel Rivals hype train. But after playing the game for over 30 hours, I have to admit—I’m hooked. The gameplay is engaging, but what really stands out to me is the potential it has for creative inspiration. Every character in the game comes with their own rich origin story, which makes it so much easier to brainstorm ideas for renders and animations. It’s like the game hands you a treasure trove of concepts to explore, and I can’t help but imagine how I could bring those stories to life through my own work.
END OF OVERWATCH?
I don’t plan on stopping Overwatch content creation anytime soon. While I might not enjoy the game as much as, say, Marvel Rivals, the characters are still incredibly inspiring and continue to spark creative ideas for me. That said, when it comes to making more Overwatch models, I think I’ve reached my limit. At this point, there’s pretty much a model for every female character in the game. I’ve created a few myself, Nyl has covered the majority, and the rest can easily be found on platforms like smutba.se. So, while I’ll keep exploring Overwatch in other ways, my focus on modeling for it has likely come to an end.
OTHER TYPES OF CONTENT?
Moving forward, I’m planning to diversify my content a bit. For the past year, I’ve been pretty focused on creating Overwatch-only content, and while I’ve enjoyed it, I feel like it’s starting to limit my creativity. Don’t get me wrong—this doesn’t mean I’m done with Overwatch content altogether. I’ll still be creating it, but I want to mix things up and explore new ideas.
I’m excited to experiment with some of RIGID’s models, check out what Mavixtious has to offer, and dive into random finds on smutba.se. One day, I might work on an Overwatch animation or pinup, and the next, I could be creating something completely different, like cyberpunk-inspired art. It’s all about keeping things fresh and allowing myself to explore new creative directions.
This shift isn’t just about breaking out of a creative box—it’s also about growing as an artist and seeing where these new influences can take me. I’m looking forward to sharing this journey and seeing how it evolves!
ENDING
Please take everything I say with a grain of salt—this field moves fast, and things can shift overnight. What I’m sharing reflects where my head is at right now, but I’m always open to new perspectives. If you have questions, ideas, or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to hear what you guys think.
