I was contacted by DM's Guild yesterday and would like to get the input of my backers. According to the DM's Guild I am one of the top 30 sellers on their site (which blows my mind!) and they requested I participate in a flash sale. The hitch, however, is that all of my stuff is PWYW so there is nothing I have to put on sale (their message made it clear they would not accept PWYW content for this). In order to participate in the flash sale I am considering putting all current content from the DM's Guild into a single document, the Sterling Vermin Omnibus, that will have a fixed price and include all content so far released by Sterling Vermin on the DM's Guild.
This DOES NOT mean I will take down all the PWYW options it just means there will be an option that allows people to purchase the Omnibus for (approximately) $10. For people who'd like to offer support but want to do so without joining this Patreon it would be an alternative way of showing their love for the Sterling Vermin. The description of the Omnibus would make it clear that is a compilation of PWYW content from one author.
As I have made missteps in the past in terms of how I chose to handle various situations I wanted to open it up to all of you for feedback. I feel like this is a pretty harmless option that will provide a new spotlight for the Sterling Vermin but I'd love to hear your thoughts and concerns!

I have reached out to DM's Guild to see if this would be an acceptable product to include in their flash sale and they like it (and suggested that they have a PWYW event in the future they would like us to participate in as well). I'm so glad you guys feel heard because your ongoing support means a lot to me and makes this whole Sterling Vermin adventure work! I will make another post when the Omnibus / Anthology is up and on sale (it will probably be dirt cheap on sale too as I believe the flash sale is priced at 80 - 90% off - a good time to encourage your reluctant friends to snag it!). 2017-03-22 20:21:51 +0000 UTCI'm a *very* new patron having only discovered your work a few weeks ago, so weigh my opinion accordingly. :) If you are up front about it, then I don't see an issue. Plus, as a new arrival, I would actually appreciate a bundled option.

2017-03-22 13:22:50 +0000 UTCI think it's possible there could be some negative reactions to it by people on the DMGuild who don't see this post. It's a fine line to tread, but as long as you're very explicit in the product description as to the purpose of creating it for the flash sale and that all of the content in it is still available as PWYW. That being said, congratulations on top 30! You definitely deserve it; your content is amazing, and I know my table has benefited greatly from its inclusion.

En5ider without contacting their patrons turned around and started selling their content on DM's Guild for less than what I was putting into it as a patron. That's the kind of thing that I might consider bad behaviour. What you're talking about here I don't have an issue with at all. You're talking with your patrons first. You're not taking down existing content or hiding free content behind paywalls. You're even being upfront with people who might pay for your otherwise free work. I'd say go for it.
