2017-06-15 19:57:41 +0000 UTCGoing with The Trevor Project. My sociology professor (who is a bisexual man, married to another guy) strongly advocated for it back when I took his classes, and I know from both personal and external experiences how important it is for young queer people to have somewhere to turn, especially if being abused. Too many end their lives over it, and TP seeks to avoid those truly unfortunate casualties of homophobia. Seeing that I've decided to get a degree in sexual psych for this reason, it is only natural that it would be my choice...even though it doesn't look like it will win. I do suggest that people consider it, however. It is an extremely vital initiative.

2017-06-15 19:04:07 +0000 UTCI try and choose charities that are the most well known and credible, primarily so that most patrons are already possibly familiar with them. I may throw in a local charity near to my own home sometimes, but I try and be as fair as I can as far as the location in which these charities operate. This month has a certain theme because it's Pride month, but next round will probably go back to being a variety of animal, environment, and humanitarian charities. When I make the monthly announcement, I usually ask patrons to bring forward their charity suggestions so that I have time to look into them before adding them =]

2017-06-15 16:08:13 +0000 UTCGosh I love this and that you give so much. I'm curious but how do you pick which Charity to put as the options (do you just choose the ones you like personally or is there more to it?) or can we possibly suggest one each month and not just the type? (sorry just new and unsure if we can suggest some sorry to be a pain or annoying)
