Borges on Art of Darkness and Coming Attractions
Added 2023-04-04 04:03:48 +0000 UTCI know it's been a slow couple months, and I want to thank everybody who's still here supporting me. (The House of Asterion has relocated twice this year, and it's labyrinth is stalked by a baby in teething agony.)
I recently joined the boys on the Art of Darkness Podcast to talk about the life and work of Jorge-Luis Borges. (If you're interested in seeing me show face, check out the Youtube version.)
In about a week, I should have a Borges-related "In the Stacks" episode, possibly two. By the end of the month I should have a short episode on the symbolism of The Aleph, centered around Borges' famous short story of that name, explicating its meaning in Kabbalah. This will actually be part of a larger episode on Mirrors, and will serve as an preview for it. While Patrons can hear "The Aleph" here early, I will also make it available for free. "Mirrors" will be a Patron-only release and, I believe, worth the contribution.
After "Mirrors" will be a multi-part episode on "Labyrinths."
In case you missed it, I was also on Resident Life Enjoyers to talk about Stanley Kubrick's film Barry Lyndon.
And, in late May or early June, I will be a guest on There Will Be Books to talk about Cormac McCarthy's novel Suttree.
And, at some point I will be on YeerkP's Bistro Californium to talk Pere Ubu, Wallace Stevens, and maybe some other things. We're still hashing it out. In the meantime, please listen. It's great.
Oh, and I've also had a poem published in Apocalypse Confidential's special "Love" edition. If you're on mobile, make sure you rotate your screen to see the cornucopias.
