Monthly Report: November 23, 2022

Oooohh boy.

This month hasn't had a whole lot going on, honestly; a lot of my focus has gone towards my 3D work and learning how to model. But, I have still poked at animating here and there. Primarily, what started as a "I should really do something with this darn t-rex I made because I really like them" has become "Helix is going to get very well introduced to a rex maw."

Also I finished up the last of Isolda the loog's standing animations, with her now capable of full touring Helix properly. I still want to add a full tour to the laying animations, and then sounds; and then I think she'll be finished up.

The gryphon is one of the most complicated characters I've ever made, and while I tried to keep him built in a way that'd make him easy to work with, it's going to take me some time to really get much done with him. Be patient for the feathery lad!

In the mean time, while I haven't really learned how to do any animating, I'm getting fairly proficient at modeling low-resolution things in 3D, at least! Here's a few props I've made. At some point I'd love to start taking smaller prop commissions or making 3D model packs for folks to buy and use as they wish, or something like that.

I think that's about it for now.

What's coming up in the future? Well, I'll be heading to MFF at the end of the month; I'll probably be pretty busy, but if you see me, feel free to say hi! Please don't mind that I'm pretty socially stunted from the past few years of isolation, haha.

When I get back, I need to really start putting in more effort, getting my health in line, and maybe think about finally, FINALLY, opening a commission slot or two. I still need some time to figure out *how* to go about doing so, for a variety of reasons; animation is difficult to price out, I'm not sure how much I want to offer, and I need to figure out a good way to actually take commission forms.

But, those are questions for next month, to be solved by next month. Report, over!

Those are some nice low poly models - they've got a nice stylized aesthetic and a discernible charm to them. Well done! Looking forward to what you may offer for commissions in the future, but don't undervalue yourself. Consult friends and anyone familiar with animated commissions if need be to validate that your work is worth the price that YOU feel is justified.
