Game Roadmap [Mid-August]

Hey all!  I've had a couple patrons reach out with questions on the status of certain things, so I figured it might be a good time to post an updated Game Roadmap to give you an idea of what I'm planning on in the short-term and beyond.

New Server (ready to go!)
I got an awesome new server that I'm working to move the game over to.  I think that may be completed today sometime!  It will help with game speed and load as well as growth, but there's always more optimizations to do.

Pet System (developed in Alpha)
The Pet system is ready to go into Beta with at least 4 possible pets.  I've got art/plans to do somewhere around 12-16 pets long-term.  Pets bring you items every hour and can be upgraded to bring you more/rarer things.

Pig Pen (fully planned)
The idea is pretty much ready to go and I'll be working on Pig Pen next after the new server migration and pet system is off and running.  You will raise pigs and "convert" them to Bacon for big profits.  There's potential of needing a new building called the "feed mill" before you can unlock pigs and horses.  The feed mill would convert crops to animal feed, used to level up your pigs and horses (and I might go back and make cows use this).  Time will tell.

Horse Stables (mostly planned)
This is a massive system with horses, breeding, leveling them up (each horse having different traits, etc).  Once a horse is leveled enough it could be entered into horse races that happen once (or twice) a day for big money.  Horses would be able to be used for some amount of races and then have to retire, giving you a reason to keep breeding new/better horses.  It's a big idea and will take a good bit of time to put together and test.

Mining - New Skill (still being planned)
I already started prototyping this system.  You would need explosives to blast open the mine and then break open rocks as fast as you can.  There's be a timer of say 20-30 seconds that could be expanded with perks.  The mines would give you the chance for some nice/rare items and gems and be another good money maker.  There's a lot of planning left for this system.

Cooking - New Skill (still being planned)
You would add a kitchen to your farmhouse and then add ovens.  Cooking would work similar to crafting, but would also be timer-based.  You would take ingredients and combine them to form a meal that has to cook for some amount of time.  Meals could be sold in town or used for other things like help needed requests.  There's still a lot to plan here.

That's the major stuff I have on my plate for the next couple months.  Along the way there will of course be new items, new help requests, more QoL fixes and other neato stuff (like special events for Holidays).

--- Way Long Term Ideas ---

I'm probably 6+ months away from most of this, but here's things that could end up in the game in time.

More New Skills + Specialties
Combat, Blacksmithing, or Shop-keeping.  Also ideas for having "specialties" in each of the current skills where you can focus in on a specific part of the skill.  Example: Jeweler in crafting where you specialize in making jewelry.  The same could work for certain crops in farming, or exploring or fishing in certain places to become specialized.

Expanded Exploration
I've already written a "choose your own path" story system on Titan Conquest and Quest Writer, so the system could enter Farm RPG as part of exploring.  It would open up the door for more story-based exploring with different paths and endings.  It's proven to work well in my other games so it makes a lot of sense to become part of Farm RPG also.

Ton of Building Ideas, New Items, New Bait, etc
Some of these ideas will probably show up along the way: Flour Mill, Wishing Well, Town Pub, County Fair, Gummy Worms, Trade Center, Magic Seeds, Seed Germinator, and many many more

Anyways, I hope this helps give you an idea of where the game is going!  I'm excited to work on it all and expand the game even more into 2022.  Thank you for the support so far!

Are you no longer looking into a glassworks?

Love the long term thinking!
