Trade Center [Concept]
Added 2021-08-05 15:25:06 +0000 UTCWe have mailboxes and the trade chat, but that's really pretty basic / low level stuff that mostly helps out new players. As more players join and progress a more robust trade system is probably needed. I don't want to do auctions or player shops (for silver), but maybe a Trade Center could work.
- It would unlock at level 50 (all skills) so that it is focused on players in the 2nd half of the game (and phase 2 whenever I get there).
- You can post what you need and what you'll give in return. The items you will give will be taken immediately and sit in a holding spot so that if a player comes along and agrees to the trade they can give you what you need and instantly get the items you promised.
- If you post something stupid in trade center (like I'll give you 1 stone for 10 moonstones, etc) then nobody will want to honor that trade and it will just get removed by the system after an hour or so.
- There could be a reputation system with this too. Trades that never get fulfilled could hurt your rep store, and trades that do happen could help it. The rep system wouldn't do a whole lot except show on your profile maybe. It could do more?
- I do worry about abuse and balance here, but I'm also trying to see if there's any point to two high level players doing huge mass trades (like a stone for a diamond, etc), what does that do to hurt anybody else? We already have rules about no 2nd accounts, etc.
This is all just concept at this point, but it could be a slick system if it can be proved to not unbalance the game or be abused. Thoughts?
