Meet the Berserkers

So I've been hard at work these last few days, rebuild my berserkers mod from the ground up!

I've almost implemented all the features I want, including the possibility for the player to become a berserker with its own werebear skill tree. Once you're a berserker, you'll automatically turn into a werebear when your health falls below a given threshold during combat. You can also turn into a werebear by eating the "Bear's Paw" mushrooms growing near these strange stone statues found in the wilderness. If you haven't accomplished the berserker ritual, then eating one of these mushrooms will grant you a short "Berserker's Fury" buff.

Concerning the new enemies, I'm still working on their design but already pretty happy with the results.

I still have to come up with actual perks for the new skill tree now that the art is done. I have also lots of other ideas I'll implement these coming days, like a new blessing when you pray to the bear statues, or an amulet of Tsun that will let you control your transformations (thus protecting you from the influence of Hircine). My ultimate goal would be to include all these things into a quest to progressively introduce the new features to the player while also telling an interesting story. I'll see when the time comes if I'm able to do that, otherwise this will be released as a simple creatures + werebear addition.

I'm hoping to be able to share a playable version next week for you all!

Cheers

Companions integration could be fun! I'll try to do that if possible, for the moment I'm still focusing on base features

I'd been waiting for something similar for so long. Finally, an alternative to werewolves. The mechanics look great. However, you should think about the Companions storyline. I'm thinking in particular of the ritual with Aela and Skjor. Perhaps you should include an alternative message allowing the player to keep his werebear form (if he already has the werebear form in his possession). Perhaps even hints of a bear scent in Companions-specific discussions or via other NPCs, who knows what. Your mod has great potential to host something that should have been in Skyrim from the start.

The currently implemented berserkers (3 at the moment) are all males but I might consider adding some women as well, thanks for the suggestion!

May be a silly question but are you also planning female berserkers? Love that you're bringing back this idea. Looking forward to it even if it ends up just being a creature add-on
