A Short Update

Hello, dear Patrons! I've been hard at work on the next video, concerning Anime, Video Games, and Soft Power. The script is one of the best I've worked on so far, and the video is going to be a long, winding, historical one, starting as early as interactions between the Han Dynasty and Rome, moving our way through historical orientalism, the opening of Japan, Japonisme, early Japanophilia, the development of animation as an art form in Japan, how that art form was co-opted and shaped by the Japanese government all the way to the modern day, where we will explore how animation and video games continued to be very purposefully, and sometimes cynically, leveraged by the Japanese government for the purposes of soft power and internal propaganda.

It'll be a fun, historical journey, full of curious stories that might, I hope, leave you with some new insights into both Japanese culture, but also Western culture.

I'll likely have a sneak peek of the first half of the video for you before the end of April! The length of this video means that it'll take likely until the first month of May for me to finish it.

Please let me know what you think about the topic, as well! I understand that the previous poll may or may not have been influenced by friend of the channel Lextorias: if you, the Patrons, prefer a different topic, let me know and I'll see if we can't fast track that for the next release.
