I've been trying to print these and they keep pulling off the bed and I have a cryogrip on. Do I need a raft to keep them on?

You might eventually add a "Starter" and "Finish" piece that dont have the clip part (just shave off the upper clip on the stater and remove the socket on the lower). Still modular, but in a more finished look!
