Chapter 153: The Final Exam

Seeing George charging toward him, Sol immediately began to read George's memories.
His combat strategy relied on exploiting an enemy's psychological weaknesses by reading their memories. Then, he would craft realistic puppets of loved ones or significant people from those memories, making his enemies hesitate to attack. This hesitation would then allow him to strike a decisive blow.
Around Sol, numerous puppets made of earth magic were already present, resembling the siblings, lovers, children, and parents of the Fairy Tail wizards who were attacking him.
Unfortunately for Sol, when he attempted to delve into George's memories, he was met with a strong mental barrier, unable to access anything. Instead, George followed the trail of the psychic connection and infiltrated Sol's memories.
"Legilimency!"
Using the Legilimency spell combined with his advanced Level 3 psychic abilities, George forcibly plunged Sol into a trance-like state, causing all the earth puppets to vanish instantly.
"You damned bastard! Partial Takeover: Beast Arm!"
Triggered by the mention of his deceased sister, Elfman, consumed with fury, transformed his arm into a beastly appendage. He punched Sol, who was still immobilized by George, sending him crashing deep into the ground and leaving him gravely injured and unconscious.
"Well done, Elfman! Go assist Gray!"
Elfman, as Mirajane's younger brother, used Takeover Magic to absorb beastly souls. While his strength didn't quite match Natsu's or Gray's, he was close to the level of an ordinary S-Class wizard.
When George led Elfman and Cana to Gray's side, they were met with an amusingly chaotic scene.
During the earlier Phantom Guild battle, Juvia had fallen for Gray at first sight. Her inner conflict between newfound love and loyalty to her friend, Totomaru, left her in a comical predicament.
Juvia, unwilling to harm Gray but reluctant to see Totomaru hurt, kept intervening in the fight. This left Gray and Totomaru locked in combat while Juvia flitted between them, acting as a peacekeeper.
Before George could step in, Gray's superior combat prowess prevailed. He defeated Totomaru, the flame wizard with his rainbow fire, using his Ice Make magic.
Juvia, meanwhile, stopped fighting altogether, unwilling to continue aiding the Phantom Guild.
At this point, most of the Phantom Guild's wizards, except for Jose, had been incapacitated. This allowed Erza, who had been struggling to hold her ground, to receive reinforcements from George and the rest of the Fairy Tail wizards.
This included Natsu, whose seemingly superhuman resilience was on full display. Despite reaching his limits earlier, Natsu recovered astonishingly quickly, regaining more than half his strength in mere moments.
"We are... Fairy Tail!"
With a unified roar, the Fairy Tail wizards unleashed a passionate assault on Jose, who was running low on magical power.
A barrage of magic came from all directions—melee attacks, ranged spells, and specialized techniques—leaving Jose overwhelmed.
George was the most cunning among them, using his small feline form to stay hidden behind other Fairy Tail members while launching sneak attacks. His arsenal included invisible strikes like the Sectumsempra curse and lethal spells like the Avada Kedavra.
Occasionally, George even replenished Natsu with bursts of powerful flames to bolster his attacks.
After a grueling half-hour of relentless teamwork, Jose finally fell. Controlled briefly by George's Imperius Curse, he was left vulnerable to a devastating final blow from Erza, who unleashed her full power.
"We did it!"
Staring at the defeated and unconscious Jose, all the Fairy Tail wizards let out a triumphant cheer, panting but exhilarated.
They had accomplished the seemingly impossible—defeating Jose, one of the Ten Wizard Saints, and fending off the entire Phantom Guild's assault without the help of their guild master or their three S-Class wizards.
"Well done, my children. I am so proud of you!"
A familiar voice echoed. Turning around, they saw their guild master, Makarov, standing there with a broad smile.
In truth, Makarov had arrived as soon as Jose led the Phantom Guild wizards out of their mobile fortress. However, seeing how George had taken charge and led Fairy Tail, he decided to stay hidden.
He felt this was an invaluable opportunity for the guild members to grow. With his own recovery complete, Makarov had been ready to intervene at any moment, but his children's teamwork and determination left him deeply gratified.
This victory perfectly embodied the spirit of Fairy Tail: overcoming adversity through unity.
"Master!"
The wizards cheered once more upon seeing their master safe and sound.
Soon after, a council investigation team arrived in Magnolia to assess the situation.
The verdict was clear: the Phantom Guild initiated the conflict, and Fairy Tail acted in self-defense.
The council declared Jose guilty, sentencing him to imprisonment and disbanding the Phantom Guild. As compensation for the damages, Fairy Tail was awarded the Phantom Guild's mobile fortress and magic crystal cannon.
This last point was something George strongly pushed Makarov to demand.
The fortress and cannon were intact and only needed minor modifications to become a formidable mobile war base. There was no reason to let the council benefit from Fairy Tail's hard-won victory, especially since they had contributed nothing to the battle.
With the matter resolved, George returned to a peaceful life.
However, his outstanding performance in the conflict significantly boosted his popularity and prestige within the guild. Many now believed he possessed the strength of an S-Class wizard.
Makarov, impressed, began teaching George advanced light magic techniques, perhaps as a prelude to training him in super-magic.
George suspected that, after this incident, Makarov might even be grooming him as a candidate for the next guild master.
Meanwhile, in the world of Harry Potter, George was wrapping up his first-year final exams.
"This is too easy!"
As the last exam—History of Magic—ended, George joined the other students outside under the bright sun, silently marveling at how simple the tests were.
When he first enrolled, he had considered using his main world's computer to cheat. Yet, by the time finals arrived, his rigorous study habits made the idea laughable.
During the written exams, answers leaped to his mind as soon as he read the questions. Practical exams were even simpler: making a pineapple tap-dance across a desk, transforming a rat into a snuffbox, or brewing a Forgetfulness Potion—all tasks he had mastered months ago.
His success stemmed from daily hard work, thorough research, and the combined experience of his various avatars and main self, which gave him a significant edge over his peers.
Moreover, the shared physical and magical talents of his avatars made him a true prodigy.
