Video releated to events in Ukraine

I have been debating with another creator for days on if it is ok to make a video on the current conflict, or releated to the current conflict, in Ukraine.  The videos I would have in mind would be either "In defense of NATO" or "How Russian Propaganda built up for the war"

But, either way, I do not know and have not come to an conclusion on if this is ok. So I am leaving the choice to you.

Should i interupt my current work and make those opinion videos?

I gave it a yes but I agree with some of the sentiments above. I love your Russian authoritarianism vid and perhaps it might be interesting to simply understand "why Ukraine?" What is about the history and society of Ukraine that has made them a historically fraternal nation to Russia yet different enough to bring things to this point. It need not talk about the war itself but I think more people could benefit from understanding more deeply the roots of the country most people want to see preserved and who are today going to pay to preserve through higher commodity prices etc.

Honestly I’d say wait a bit. Even if it seems obvious now, anything you say could age horribly.

Definitively yes! I'm very interested in what your opinion is! Low quality is definitively ok also - I'm used to just listen to YouTube videos instead of watching them (although your channel is one of the few exceptions)

I'm still voting yes, though after reading the reasons behind the "no" votes I'm making it a softer yes. I think a good compromise could be a history of the 2014 invasion and a few years after. On a separate note, a request: I think it would be a good time for you to re-upload your Russia video on the culture wars. I completely understand why you took down your anti-alt right videos and I 100% respect the need/desire to post (or not post) what you feel is best. But lots of culture warriors are engaging in soft apologetics in the form of "both sidesism" in no small part because they view Putin as a defender of Christianity (Rod Dreher is a good example of this). Something like your video on the topic might be helpful. If you don't want to repost the video for any reason (or no reason at all!) I completely understand. But I think it might be helpful.

Hey I would love to know (provided your hand and your health are okay!) more about how budapest memorandum was negotiated and how no party on either Russia's or the West side seem to follow up and support post Ukraine nuclear arms where given up. Also it would be interesting to know if this memorandum was an attempt to have the Ukraine go through finlandisation (like finland lol) or was something different all together.

Personally, I would enjoy something about NATO

Please do not. Make them, but make them next year. Something is going to come out of this conflict that you are going to want to include in such a video, but it either hasn't happened yet or it hasn't been publicized.

I voted No. Please only do it if it will be a proper history video. Like in your fantastic china/trumpbait piece.

most of the people that follow your channel already know whats going on since they follow politics so i voted know ultimately its your choice hope the arm is better tho

Please, don't burn yourself out!!! That's the primary consideration. Don't do it if you're feeling worn down or overworked. If you feel like you can still achieve this without too much fatigue though... I still voted Yes. Because channel growth. It makes so much sense to do a video on Ukraine right now. Your channel growing means more good things for all of us. You've proven your integrity and sensitivity to these issues. Go for it, if it doesn't compromise your mental health.

I think it's a topic worth discussion but you need a while for making videos.. So maybe better to wait till the situation is stable or somewhat stable. working on it on the side, is maybe worth it.

I've found your video on Russian authoritarianism as well as videos about the Kievan Rus to be helpful background to the geopolitics of Ukraine. I would be interested in further reflection/investigation of Ukraine as a historically related state to Russia and how the invasion has galvanized Ukrainian nationalism. Or an analysis of Putin's goals and why the invasion happened now.
