Your Opinions on a possible change

On 3 occasions You have been so kind as to provide money in advance for a video that was still a work in progress. I have always delivered in the end. And I am grateful for your support. Ever since I opened this Patreon I have only charged people upon the completion of a video. And these 3 exceptions have been somewhat embarrassing to me. But I have come to increasingly learn that it isn't embarrassing. In particular with the new work system I now have in place.
I now open a separate discord server for each and every single video I make. In that Server, all the artwork is categorized and posted. All the music used in the video will be listed in audio files. All my sources are listed. Access to the script is granted to everyone. And we have conversations about the video. My intention is to give Patreons access to all of these individual servers while the work for the video is still in progress.
Therefore I wanted to make the following proposal. How about, from now on: After the topic of the next video is voted on, I open the work server and start working it. I give you all instant access to that server as a Patreon perk. You can observe the work on the video in progress. And I charge you in a paid post once the script, or audio-recording of the video, are finished.
That way you can observe the work. You know what is coming. And you can also decide in advance to not pay for a video if you disagree with it or dislike it. An additional benefit would be that I can make the charged post at the beginning or end of a month. And then you have an entire month time to review the script, the research, and eventually the video, to then decide if you want to pay for it or not.
If you approve I would post a paid post for the Greece video this week and give you access to the audio. I have to be honest, I kinda need the money too to pay my tax bill, and the unmonetized Chomsky video has thrown my work process a bit into shambles.
And if this system works continuously for a few months it will make it more comfortable for me to change to monthly payouts as some of you demanded.

Dear god man, just charge monthly and don't think about it. Your content is worth my (and hopefully everyone's) patience. I'm honestly surprised to see my Patreon bill as low as it is, and the scale and unique point of you that you provide are well worth my money. I hope that you can be at a point where your channel is your only necessary source of income.

2021-11-24 23:51:51 +0000 UTCDo monthly payment. I think there are so many people here who wouldn't mind having to pay per month for the quality we are receiving. I understand, it can be problematic if you don't deliver in 3 months something, but this was almost never the case. Why not make a pool with that? Maybe someone would pay 15 euros to have access to your discord servers, but others don't need that and would happily pay 10 euros per month ... or other want just to support the channel and would pay 20-50 euros.
2021-11-23 08:50:58 +0000 UTCI can’t speak for everyone else but I prefer to pay as your work is finished. For myself personally I prefer to get your videos as a surprise since I’m not on the other platforms except for YouTube. But I wouldn’t be bothered any other way the decision goes.

2021-11-18 06:17:37 +0000 UTCI'm one who does not care how often videos are posted. I really like your videos and believe that you should have the freedom to pursue any project you desire to make. You should not have to be beholden to being paid out per video. You somehow manage to deliver both quality and quantity. I'm all for switching to a monthly payment model as I want you to be able to focus more on video production without worrying about when is your next payout.
2021-11-17 21:06:41 +0000 UTCIf you ARE going to do monthly payments, then you may have to boost up the prices for it, well if $1 a month is your lowest tier, then boost it up to $3 if it helps your content.

2021-11-17 20:38:18 +0000 UTCWhile I personally find it interesting to open up the work to be paid on delivery, I suppose the risk is mitigated by the fact that we probably wouldn't be supporting you here if we didn't like the content. Thus, for the sake of monthly charges being better for your sanity, I am for it.
