The Mexican American Border | From War to Wall

In 1911 Mexico underwent an enormous transformation through revolution. But the Republic born that promised to end inequality and authoritarianism dragged Mexico into further poverty and authoritarianism… all of which leads to an important question: What went wrong?

You're incredibly harsh with modern Mexico. I'm getting the idea you haven't been there. If Mexico fits the description of a "failed state", I worry more than half the human population lives in one. Great stuff otherwise. Thanks.

the best video ever!! loved it, as a Mexican whomever I see more plausible a transformation because of internal immigration; as you guys stated we in northern Mexico have more in common with southern us than the rest of Mexico (politically and culturally), also we are richer so in the last years we have received huge numbers of migrants from southern Mexico since we are a population minority in the country we don't control the federal government (southern Mexico is made out of the farmers and the cities who lost more with the economic integration with the rest of the world and want to come back to the previous status quo of small farms and big state own corporations) whomever if migration keeps it pace in some decades we will be big enough (demographically) to sway the political movement into a real change which in turn will empower economically Mexicans and finally get us all richer.
