The night was moonless, seething with storm and fury. Layers of black, gray, and deep blue clouds blanketed the sky, unleashing a relentless rain.
A sudden flash of lightning split the darkness, revealing a hidden field surrounded by ancient trees.
There moved a silhouette. A werewolf woman, fierce and wild, striding forward through the rain. Her fur was wet and heavy, her muscles tensed with exhaustion. Blood streamed from her fresh wounds, merging with the rain that coursed down her scarred body. The battle was over, and she had won - again.
With a low growl she yanked the last arrow from her shoulder and flung it aside. Another group of hunters defeated. But how many more would come? How long could she evade the humans that stalked her?
And yet… part of her relished it. The terror in their eyes, the rush of the chase, the raw thrill of survival... All that fed something deep within her cursed soul.
Let them come. Ten more, a hundred. Bring it on!
Raha's pain was fleeting, but fear of humans would remain with them forever.
