Added 2023-10-12 18:29:18 +0000 UTCI got this idea about a twisted spirit of a fertility who would support your harvest really good - if you give her a human sacrifice. She'd eat them and turn the remains into a possessed scarecrow who'd protect your crops against any harm, and your village would never starve.
The price is one soul versus the whole village. Seems like a good deal... right?

Honestly I thought this is the case when she'd prefer somebody "nasty" (like you use manure as a fertilizer, this logic xD). But she's not telling anybody about it (because why bother), so people would figure it out empirically
