Erynis- chapter 11- painting the flaming sword

We are close to the end of an in-depth journey on how to paint Erynis the grief bearer. Today it is time to paint the giant flaming sword, that is Erynis weapon of choice when it comes to hunting the undead.
The Flames on the sword are one of the biggest changes when we compare the finished model with the concept art.
In the concept, the sword is dominated by a subtle blue glowing eye, and it does not have any flames on the blade of the sword at all.
As the flames look quite similar to the ghostly glowing hair, I wanted to make sure that both separate well.
We are using the sword to harmonize the different red-orange and red-pink glows.
The Sword is a rather long chapter covering the steel blade itself, the golden nmm parts, the handle, the glowing eye, and the magic flames.
The next chapter will be the last episode of Erynis, where we finally paint the glowing blue hair and the osl that hits the surrounding elements.
