Chapter 47: Genshi Deduces That Itachi Controls the Mizukage!

Chapter 47: Genshi Deduces That Itachi Controls the Mizukage!

The fragile status quo they had struggled to maintain was shattered in an instant.

All because of a brainless fool within the Taketori clan, who ended up sparking an all-out battle.

At this moment, Genshi wanted nothing more than to spit a mouthful of sixty-year-old phlegm onto that idiot's face, hoping it might wake up whatever intelligence he had left.

But now, it was too late to say anything!

Since the Blood Mist policy, mutual hatred had been building among the villagers, reaching a point where it was nearly impossible to defuse. Even if they managed to stop this conflict, another one would likely break out soon.

The scene had devolved into utter chaos, with everyone blinded by rage and bloodlust.

In a short time, the area was covered in corpses and the ground was soaked with blood. Yet, nothing could stop either side's determination to kill the other.

"How did it come to this…"

Watching as people she knew fell dead from one moment to the next, Mei Terumi's heart twisted in pain, especially knowing there was nothing she could do.

Meanwhile, high atop the Mizukage building, a solitary figure stood silently, observing the violence below with indifference. It was clear he felt no empathy for those fighting and dying beneath him.

It was Obito Uchiha who had orchestrated this entire scene by sending someone to provoke Yagura in order to ignite the conflict. And just as planned, the two sides had begun slaughtering each other.

He had crafted this grand spectacle, and now it was underway.

There was no way Obito would miss seeing this village, the one that had hurt Rin, be utterly destroyed.

"Does Genshi intend to stay out of this?"

"No way!"

"In this war, no one can leave alive!"

On the battlefield, a small group stood conspicuously untouched by the chaos, which Obito noticed right away. Cold and ruthless, he immediately instructed White Zetsu to disguise itself as one of Taketori Shika's men and launch an attack on Genshi's group.

He was determined not to let them stay on the sidelines.

"Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"

"Wild Water Wave Technique!"

...

Ninjutsu flew wildly through the air, blending with the screams and sounds of battle like a twisted symphony from the depths of hell.

Under Obito's manipulations, one ninjutsu after another began to land near Genshi's group.

Mei Terumi managed to block each of them, preventing any serious injuries, but the group's morale was certainly affected.

This was obviously deliberate, not some accident.

When the first attempt didn't succeed, they were hit with a second and third wave of attacks…

"Those scoundrels! Can they no longer distinguish friend from foe?"

Seeing that they were continuously being drawn into the fight and that people were starting to get hurt, the prodigy Mangetsu Hozuki was visibly angered by the helpless feeling of being attacked without being able to retaliate.

"Sister Mei, how much longer do we have to wait?" Mangetsu Hozuki asked, unable to contain himself.

"Lord Genshi told us to wait for results!"

"Almost there!"

Mei Terumi was just as anxious as Mangetsu, and she had asked Genshi multiple times for an explanation. All she received was a simple "wait," with no further details. She had no idea what exactly Genshi was waiting for.

"They're here!"

At that moment, Genshi, who had remained still since the battle began, suddenly opened his eyes, looking with excitement at a figure rushing toward them.

"What's here?"

"Could it be that Lord Genshi has thought of a solution?"

Everyone was left guessing as they watched Genshi's reaction.

In moments, a weary figure arrived in front of Genshi.

"Lord Genshi, I have accomplished the task!"

Yi's tired face was firm with determination as he spoke.

"Good!"

"Please explain it to everyone here," Genshi replied, recognizing some of the answers in Yi's pleased expression.

Yi proceeded to reveal the details.

After Genshi first suspected there was something wrong with the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura, he had begun subtle probing and had uncovered several peculiarities.

For example, the Mizukage seemed to avoid Yi. But why would the Fourth Mizukage go out of his way to avoid him? Did Yi have some unique ability that intimidated the Mizukage?

After pondering this, Genshi reached the conclusion that the Mizukage might be fearful of Yi's Byakugan, possibly worried that it would reveal something suspicious.

However, suspicion alone wasn't enough. So Genshi decided to test this by sending Yi on solo missions, and, as expected, Yi was attacked. Not just once, but multiple times—clearly a premeditated conspiracy.

This further confirmed that something was very wrong with the Mizukage.

But Genshi had never considered genjutsu as a possibility. After all, the idea of a perfect Jinchuriki like Yagura being controlled by genjutsu was laughable.

In preparation for this battle, Genshi decided to take a risk, instructing Yi to use his Byakugan to observe Yagura and uncover what was truly happening. He had Yi hide and wait for Yagura to appear, then quickly use the Byakugan to examine him.

Sure enough, they now had the answer they had long been searching for!

"I used my Byakugan to confirm it repeatedly!"

"The Fourth Mizukage is indeed under the control of a genjutsu!" Yi reported, his face still pale with shock as he revealed the startling truth.

"What?"

"That's impossible!"

"The Fourth Mizukage is a perfect Jinchuriki. What kind of genjutsu could possibly control him?"

Despite Yi's certainty, few people could accept the reality of this.

If someone as powerful as the Fourth Mizukage could be controlled, then who among them could be safe?

"Sigh."

"Now that Yi has explained it…"

"I understand things much more clearly now!"

"A few months ago, the Fourth Mizukage encountered the Leaf rogue Uchiha Itachi and the former Seven Ninja Swordsman Juzo Biwa."

"You all know this incident."

"At the time, the Fourth Mizukage was left seriously injured, allowing the two to escape."

"I thought that was the end of it."

"But after he returned, the Mizukage's personality changed. He began to enforce the Blood Mist policy in secret."

"At the time, I assumed it was just his shame and frustration over failing to capture Juzo that caused him to lash out."

"It wasn't until the village began its descent into chaos that I realized there was a serious problem with the Mizukage!"

"Combined with Yi's findings, I finally understand everything now!"

"The Uchiha… truly a terrifying clan…"

As Genshi spoke, he recalled memories of an era long past.

The one they called the Demon of the Shinobi World, who single-handedly overwhelmed entire villages…

During that time, every hidden village had been forced to bow down.

Only after that man died did the memories of those dark days fade away.

But now, he was reminded of that man, and of the god-like eyes that went beyond ordinary Sharingan!

"Lord Genshi, please finish what you were saying!"

"This is no time for cliffhangers!"

Everyone grew anxious as Genshi's speech trailed off at a critical moment.

"My apologies, I was lost in thought."

"As Yi just mentioned, the Fourth Mizukage is under a genjutsu."

"If my guess is correct, this is due to the Uchiha clan's Mangekyo Sharingan!"

"And recently, the only Uchiha he has encountered is Uchiha Itachi!"

"So we can conclude that Itachi has likely awakened the legendary Mangekyo Sharingan!"

"Only such an advanced Sharingan could control a perfect Jinchuriki like the Fourth Mizukage!"

Genshi's words were resolute, as he also took the opportunity to educate the younger ninjas of the Hidden Mist about the Mangekyo Sharingan.

"Hiss…"

"Uchiha Itachi possesses such a terrifying Mangekyo Sharingan?"

"He even controlled the Fourth Mizukage! How can we possibly defeat that?"

Although they finally understood everything, the truth remained harsh.

They likely couldn't defeat Yagura, the controlled Mizukage, without suffering severe losses.

And behind the Mizukage stood Uchiha Itachi, an even more terrifying opponent. How could they possibly win?

Despair began to spread, and some were even tempted to switch sides.
