Absolutely loved the show, every season was astounding, including 5 and 6. I think GOT made it popular to hate the endings of things, as someone from the UK I’ve spoke to 30 people at least about Peaky blinders and never met anyone who didn’t love season 5 and 6, just some weird online trolling. 2025-03-14 02:28:11 +0000 UTCI think what saved Finn is that he was more innocent than Michael. Finn was just careless, full of himself and not cut out for that life. You can hear in Tommy's voice it annoys him Finn never bothered to learn Romany (I believe is what they're speaking?), like that made him an outlier by default. Michael was purposefully trying to bring Tommy down and had been even before Polly was killed. So I understand why Finn was just cast out while Michael was killed - Michael was a problem, Finn is just a nuisance.

2025-03-12 14:12:29 +0000 UTCHave thoroughly enjoyed rewatching this GREAT show again with you. I think you are now my favourite reactors to this show! Everything is just so brilliant. Can't believe Cillian Murphy missed out on a BAFTA award for his role as Tommy in 2023. He is just so good, Jason Statham would have been a very different Tommy and i just can't imagine anyone else playing that character. So sad the journey has come to an end but, looking forward to what the movie will bring us.

2025-03-12 11:04:57 +0000 UTCI forget where I read it, but someone pointed this out and I really love it: Tommy said that during the war, the first man he ever killed was a green-eyed Prussian boy. Ruby has hallucinations / nightmares of "a grey man with green eyes", which could refer to both the Prussian soldier and Doctor Holford (who wears grey suits and has very noticeable green eyes which the camera lingers on). In the end, Tommy almost kills the Doctor, but chooses to be merciful instead and spares his life. So it's a sort of poetic bookend to Tommy's life as a killer.

Some random thoughts: Diana and Mosley being real historical figures has been the hardest thing for me to deal with as far as the storyline goes. I am desperate to see how Stephen plays that plotline out in the movie. The twist at the ending with the Dr...GAHH!! Your reactions were so on point. It's taken me a few re-watches to appreciate Tommy not killing him. I think we are supposed to see the bell tolling and Tommy having mercy as the "peace" after the war. It's the 'peace' he's been searching for this whole series. Then, finding his wagon burning, he's "dead", just like he was at the end of the war. But whereas some men get a 'second chance at life'. Tommy is getting a second chance at death.. I constantly go back to Alfie being a literal prophet in this series. He is constantly dropping hints. He has a dream of Tommy's death; he's riding off on a horse and saying goodbye. I think Finn would be dead if he hadn't been family. He gave up the plan for Mosley. He didn't do it intentionally, but he was told to be cautious with Billy, and he wasn't. He chose Billy twice over his family, once when he shared family secrets and again when he tried to shoot Isiah. Isiah, who btw, was his best friend all growing up. As awful as the scene of Billy and Jack in the sauna is, I love that he taunts him by whistling 'Yankee Doodle' before he just pops up. It's so sinister and sets the tone for who Jack is under all the swagger. You all are the best. Thank you for all the thought and effort you put into these reactions. It's kind of embarrassing, but these reactions have helped me through a really, really impossible time in my life in losing my husband. Thank you, and we'll see you on the next one.

2025-03-12 07:12:19 +0000 UTCI didn't like S5 much when I first watched it. I liked it more on the rewatch with you guys because I knew what to expect going in. I still rank it as my least favorite season but I'd probably give it a 3.8 on your guys' scaling. I appreciated what was happening more, even if it did still feel like it was marking time until S6. I know S6 is way more disliked in the Fandom but I did like it more than 5 when I first saw it. There was less politics and more "action". I enjoyed the character work quite a bit. And yeah, when I saw the finale and it's revealed the doctor was lying, my socks were blown off. That was more shocking to me than Tommy taking out Michael. There was no other way for that situation to shake down. Tommy was never going to be forgiven and Michael was never gonna forget. Maybe take Gina out of the picture and *possibly* you mightve had a different outcome. As it stood, however, she was in his ear from day one, telling him he deserved more than what Tommy Shelby was *allowing* him. And maybe that can be chalked up to Gina being American. She has a whole different viewpoint on that stuff than someone raised in Britain would've. Also, I had the feeling Tommy would've 100 shot the doctor had the clock not struck 11. I love how World War I and it's effects on the characters, esp Tommy, carried through the entire show. It was basically symbolically telling him, the war is over, no reason to pull the trigger - the guns have fallen silent. Armistice. Peace at last. All in all, it was awesome rewatching with you guys. Most of all, it helped me appreciate S5 a lot more!

I'll say more later because I always need time to process these finales, let alone the final finale! Gotta just put it out there, but if there was ever a show worth a whole second watch reaction it's Peaky! Just keep that in mind. Hard to have this come to an end... :)

What I didn't like about season 6 is that they rushed the ending because they knew they wouldn't get another. This was before they even announced that a movie was coming. I felt like it was too big of a cliffhanger. But now that we're gonna get a movie, it makes more sense.

I'm wondering if it rose in the ranks of the others after the series completed? I haven't finished watching the review part, so maybe my question is answered.

I loved the show, I loved the ending, and I loved these reactions! The final two seasons were perfection for me. See you for the movie!
