2025-01-28 23:46:57 +0000 UTCI honestly love the death of the king and his teammates. It was so poetic. I also love the song background they used. The band are some people you wanted to root for. Like MQ said, there weren’t any malice between them, just people fighting for their lives so you can’t help but root for them, but unfortunately one team has to lose. The show keeps giving you more and more hints (although slightly subtle) of what is going on in the borderland if you pay close attention to it. Also, the jack of hearts game is so insane. Not only it test one’s trust, it also tests their patience and their resilience. With 5 people left, it meant the game had been going at it for 15 hours! Any normal person would break down for sure. I love your reactions as always!

2025-01-27 18:53:35 +0000 UTCThis episode isn’t one of people’s favourite episodes for no reason, especially with the psychological battle, the trust and betrayal displayed and the human nature shown by different players. The two heart games in s1&2 are actually an interesting contrast: in the Seven of Hearts game you wouldn’t want to play with your friends whereas in the Jack of Hearts game you would definitely want to bring in someone you can trust rather than playing it with complete strangers. With the King of Clubs game, Mason Quinn has greatly pointed out an important message of the show: Arisu has to find his own reason and purpose of living, rather than just constantly living for others, whether for his friends previously or Usagi now. Oak has also made a great point on how different characters viewed their own life and faced/handled death. How you live your life is one’s own choice: we have other characters regretting their lives in the previous world but we also have this band living their life to the fullest with no regrets. While I agree this is one of the greatest episodes in both seasons and the conclusion of the Jack of Hearts game is definitely epic and unpredictable, wait till you get to episodes 6, 7 & 8 (the finale) of s2. They are just as great as this one, or I shall say, even much better.

I always liked the game mafia (or werewolf) and this Jack of hearts game is kind of like that, on an extreme level of course. Can't wait for next week's reaction!

2025-01-27 02:14:46 +0000 UTCThis is my second favorite episode of season 2. I'm still holding out for my favorite which we get in a few episodes. I love Chishiya and how absolutely calculating he is. He knows what needs to be done and is very logical vs Arisu who has to have a complete mental breakdown every game before he does what is needed. Dude really likes to wait until the final moments to play hero. I could watch an entire show centered on Chishiya (and Kuina)! I'm with MQ, I thought blue dress was the face card a few times. I was suspicious of her from the get go (she reminds me of Annie from League of Legends so it heavily biased me, I used to hate Annie). But my focus quickly shifted to another person after a key event in the game. And like Answer said, she was too obvious to be the Jack. But man did the show push hard to make her the game master. Her death is the most gratifying one for me thus far.

2025-01-27 00:44:43 +0000 UTCI finally read all the Manga for this series. They really did not sufficiently explain the dealers and how they work. There is a lot more to that. In the Manga, this current Hearts game took about 4/5 rounds before the first person was offed. I guess they sped it up in the interest of time.
