2 weeks late to the party but... The book is actually a series of short stories, some featuring Dr. Susan Calvin. Many of the events of this movie are similar to the individual robot psychology problem solving in each story.

Ahead of its time this movie. It feels like a puzzle piece that fit into the world were going through with AI. Amazing content from Badd Medicine they never fail to give insight and connect with us viewers. We have a lot to learn from them. Thank you for everything you guys do.

Katie Lillico

11:25 there goes your drink spilled all over the dash.

People tend to rather just watch it on one screen, like with me I don’t like having Netflix play on my phone while I have to look at my tv

Diablos Cafe

Hey Diamond Dave, i see that in the "full length uncut" link that there are alot more views than compared to patreon. i hope that its not being leaked out. thought id say that

Ihakara Waata Toby

Awwwww leave Oak alone lol he figured it out eventually lol

Love10 ❤️

Run sonny run!!!

Cojuancidence

I recently seen this movie and it surprised me that it was good

I, Robot by Isaac Asimov isn't really a cohesive story, more of an anthology about artifical intelligence/robots & morality/philosophy. An interesting read, but not really one that I would call for entertainment. This movie is at best 'inspired by' and certainly not 'based on.' I think they really only bothered crediting Asimov because he wrote the 3 Laws (and I think some variations on them that then appeared in several of his books, starting in the 1940s). But it is a fun movie. Glad y'all enjoyed it. I love sci-fi and hope y'all get around to stuff like Minority Report :)

Bluhawke

It was credited as "suggested by Asimov's works". They pulled themes and character names from I, Robot for the film and made their own storyline.

NANOMACHINES, SON! One of my favorites of the genre, thanks for watching! Very underrated Will Smith role and Alan Tudyk deserves more praise for this one too The mention of Metroid was awesome and unexpected, so thank you for that!

Chris Breezy

I loved this movie as a kid. It's still good and is no longer as "futuristic" with the progression of AI and machines today. We just haven't entered Skynet territory yet lol. I was a huge fan of Will until he tried to make his son Jaden a star. Bro can't act so I stopped watching his movies. After I Am Legend or Hancock (I forget which was last), I fell off. Then once Jada entered her tell all era, I just can't watch any of his stuff. The only exception is the new Bad Boys, I'll get to at some point. I owe it to my childhood to complete the series lol.

Megan

Absolutely legendary lol

I'm Batman

I'm glad you guys enjoyed this one. It's nothing to write home about but it's quite entertaining, fun and you guys made it even better with the Detroit become human stuff. Loved the reaction, can't wait for the other poll winner "devil wears Prada"

Alexiani Gollarza

And his total miss on the wink 🤣🤣🤣

Alexiani Gollarza

Thanks for the reaction fellas. I haven't seen this movie in years. Hopefully you all can watch Enemy of the State with Will and Gene Hackman.

Miche

So this is actually based on a book. The author also wrote another book that became a film (also about a robot) called Bicentennial Man starring Robin Williams. Very different film but I think you’ll enjoy it.

Ron Banks

I really didn't know which way you guys were going to lean on this one, especially Oak & Diamond Dave lol. I loved this movie when it came out, but I was a big Will fan though so probably a little bias. Glad you guys liked it. Hope you guys do Hancock at some point if you haven't seen it already.

Dee

Man this reaction from y'all was an absolute blast. And Oaks reaction at the end with VIKI had me laugh so hard I fell out of my chair 😆

I'm Batman

Yeah definitely a decent movie but nothing incredibly special. The premise itself is great, the writing just isn't the best that's all. I'm with Mason Quinn in that there's much better examples of these sci-fi mystery or noir style movies. Blade Runner is absolutely the gold standard here, but Minority Report is still leaps and bounds better than I, Robot in my opinion.

Marco Gutierrez

Just to be fair, this movie came out pre-slap, so its ok if you enjoy it. I think thats how that works.

Yolo Samurai

I have the Converse Will Smith wears in the movie. They came out with them special and I bought those bitches real quick. Still wore them until last year. One of the soles cracked a bit, where the toe bends in the shoe. Breaks my heart but I'd rather have them remain in relatively good shape than fall apart. 20 years, man. I've never owned a pair of shoes that long. 🤣

Donna Castellano

First time watch for me so im hype to watch with yall!

slavicandsapphic

studios try not to ruin good movies challenge impossible

slavicandsapphic

Fun fact the studio tried to make them make the ending comedic which imo ruins the ending

Marquis keel

Saw this once in early 2000s hyped for the rewatch 🤙🏻

Steven Warner

Yes! I can't wait to watch your reactions!
